Re: Uncle Des loses Channel 4

So does this effectively put the final nail in the coffin for the top end “professional” side off the BDO. Depends who does broadcast this. If some 9th rate channel then I think it is the final nail. The impact on morale will be unbelievable. BBC , ITV and Channel 4 definitely no....really cannot s...

Re: Uncle Des loses Channel 4

Des has obviously known that for weeks..Lakeside have known that for weeks which sort of confirms that Bob Potter is happy to stage it but not put up the sponsorship with no major TV coverage...all of which leaves the BDO in a mess and it's no wonder they are running round trying to get TV and /or s...

A very good tournament that...the PDC and BBC will be pleased with it I'm sure.

Re: World Masters 2018

Bumper turnout at the Masters from the US and Canadian players - is this more than usually make the trip?: The 2018 Winmau World Masters is just three weeks away, and we can confirm that no fewer than eighteen Americans will be making the trip to the lovely Yorkshire resort of Bridlington. Play sta...

Re: Will the BDO World championship be held at lakeside?

It will 100 % be at Lakeside...where else would it be ?... Lakeside definitely want to stage it there...there is an issue with TV and sponsorship but that would exist at whatever venue they had in mind...Lakeside is ready made, will attract a decent crowd because of it's history which they would str...

Re: PDC Premier League 2019

I wouldn't pick White if he's outside the top 4 unless he does something on TV in the remaining events ..as a TV event I'd still take Barney over him any day even if Barney is out of the top 16 ..The PL is a non ranking showpiece event

Re: How do you watch the ET Events?

I've never seen a Euro Tour event in my life but that doesn't mean I don't get their importance...they are incredibly important in giving players chances to play in front of crowds which never happened outside of normal TV events before.and offer good money....but I'm certainly not going to subscrib...

Re: Road to BDO World Championships 2019

Cant imagine them dumping Home & Away and Neighbours for a whole week, to be honest. Channel 4 were looking for something to fill a gap after losing the horse racing coverage. Would be very surprised if they picked it up. Neighbours and Home and Away are completely up to date now and they both ...

The news has made the BBC Sport website so that's publicity which the BDO haven't had for ages I suppose..also has Durrant's tweet on though

Re: bdo lift all restrictions on players re the pdc.

I think it's a good thing as the less restrictions the better I think....not sure it will be over popular with BDO players and in reality won't make much difference....the only thing is a player like Jamie Hughes could still have tried to qualify for lakeside again if he had wanted to...no tour card...

Re: What led to the Winmau binning the BDO off?

Yes, let’s make everything seeded legplay! My favourite format is the best of 5 set play....my least favourite format is best of 3 set play...the PDC used to play floor finals at best of 3 set play...it was horrible then and it's still horrible now.....I would like to see a bit more best of 5 set p...

Re: What led to the Winmau binning the BDO off?

Sounds like the old board have sabotaged the future of the masters in a bit of a dirty protest on the way out. Wonder if uncle Barry would be interested in the oldest major in darts the world masters. The masters has always been known as the winmau like the bdo worlds has always been known as lakes...

So it's at least £10.00 Des has squandered away so far

Apparently all with the support & approval of TT and WCDPA .....

But it's a one off and not a precedent they say !..
