Re: Bdo trophys
Sad day imo..I know the organisation was fighting a losing battle..but they really did let themselves down. Moments like this where are Tommy and Pauls defence.. they both supported the appointment and encouraged the vote. Sad day for darts, with iconic trophies up for auction. I just hope that some...

Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
Zapp...How exactly in your extensive knowledge of County darts did you work that out?? Based on quality?? Most counties rely on sponsorship from their home venue in order for them to complete a season...1/2 the days will 1/2 the sponsorship...Apart from Superleague registrations, and profit (if any ...

Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
Dorset have called an EGM for the 23rd.. Be interesting what they decide.. all superleague teams have seemingly been provided the proposals from all 3 orgs, hopefully they will also be given some of the background info.

Re: If the BDO survives and someone new takes over.
I don’t think you need to scrap the WDT Just move to hotel ziderdown in Holland useally good crowds there To save the world masters have that at lakeside crowds not to bad when it was last held there. I think cuz of long contract with o2 world pro stuck there getting sponsor not easy But I would de...

Surprised none of you picked up on the previous BDO page link above...the headline that says click here for tickets...hasn't been activated as a link on the site...that won't help them shift tickets. Sorry old mess this, lets hope for the players sake, current and future, that something good comes o...

Skewy...These days haven't a clue... I costed one 4 or 5 years ago and £40K for a weekend event would have covered it.....at a push (i was quite ruthless with the costing also to keep it low) Crew and expenses are probably the dearest bit...A freelance cameraman is £275-300+ per day these days, excl...

classic deflecting by the self appointed CEO...Teflon uniform in tact. ps chaps...no OB involved, this looked like "Darts in Motion", they are quite expensive, but also quite experienced at darting events...including doing the dutch open most years...Thought it was very good for the bits i...

Sorry to see this Tommy, I'm sure a very difficult decision to make when you have given so much time, your life, to your county. Hope the health matters improve and your family are well.

you could also try Paul Gillings, who is a sports scientist. He runs Darts Performance Centre and offers training and advice both personally and online via courses on his site, which include various training routines. He used one of my old teams as guinea pigs a few years back over a number of weeks...

Indeed...perhaps if they spent more time..."moving darts forward" instead of backbiting and politics ...they'd see the light at the end of the tunnel.. As for Hater no.....I've experienced TT's foot stomping......Just a bloke who used to play darts, who is concerned for the promises that a...

Re: World Masters 2018
Reading this with interest...and wondering exactly where the previous board left the the two majors. I agree with ginge, if it's premier/Freeport's then that will probably be the last we see of it ... Because paying for it to be broadcast, means it will be done to a budget...probably a low budget......

Re: England Classic, Masters & Matchplay 2018
Only watched a few minutes from my sun lounger in Greece...looks like it's set up in the right hand corner as usual (if you look from the stage). The area is prob 10-12 ft deep with a very very low ceiling...almost impossible to light anything other than the board correctly. In my days I borrowed a ...

chris, as mentioned above... 2 camera ops front of stage on two 86x Box lenses (long lenses), 1 (pdc use 2) reverse angle of the players throwing, 1 Side shot (i forgot up there), 1 Jib operator (high sweeping shots), 2 radio camera Operators (1 in the crowd and one doing walk ons and cut aways), 2 ...

Re: The Jacklins have done it
9 x cameramen @£300 each per day = 2700 x 9 days (in reality probably 11 days with Rig and derig also) = £24,300...give or take a few rate squeezes etc...full timers at the prod company cheaper than freelancers.. I don't think they'd do it with less camera people, given the length of sessions...They...

Re: The Jacklins have done it
to be fair Ginge, i previously quoted a costing i worked out for a weekend event...which was around £40K. Something with Lakeside you all seem to forget, with the broadcasting, is that they also have IMG looking after the production..effectively the host broadcaster...they bring in the technical tea...

Re: The BDO AGM Farce thread
Sunday is certainly going to be interesting..One things for certain though, change is needed. But I think I'm in agreement with Oche's earlier post that change may not happen this sunday, if enough counties abstain...wayne and sue will stay. Seems that quite a few underhand tactics have been used, b...
