Yorkshire Marathon

I know this isn't darts related but I thought I'd put it here as I think more people read this section of the forum. I'm running a marathon tomorrow (Sunday) in York for cancer and children's charities. As some of you may know I'm not the fittest of blokes and the furthest I've run before is 10k and...

Re: Happy Birthday to TSoD Marking Scheme

Well done Dave and all the markers. A great help and I think sometimes go unnoticed especially back in the day of truly 'voluntary' marking. Sadly I wasn't at the first one but I was at the first northern one and still remember going into a little room with several of us and tommy explaining how thi...

Re: Lakeside day 4 - discussion.

Great game of darts, enjoyed that.

You have to feel for Wilson (despite winning!) as he's had two tough draws in two years...lost to Bunting in the first round last year and could have lost to an impressive Kist this year.

Great spirit played by both - a pleasure to watch.

Re: Ladbrokes World Championship Day 1 - Discussion

I forget, is this Kirk's first Ally Pally appearance as a caller? Yes. It's my first world championship as a caller or a spectator or a marker! Never been to the worlds before. To clarify other posts, my first calling was board 2 in Bolton in 2012 then one game in the matchplay that year (not grand...

Re: School darts club

I am starting up a darts club at my secondary school in St Helens. I have managed to scrounge boards and some darts from A180darts who have been brilliant. Does anyone know of any other schools in the North West that have a school darts club, so we can get a few matches going. Thanks. What are scho...

Re: UK Open Qualifers 7&8, Wigan - From a Newbie

I do this without the arrow. The star indicates who won the bull and therefore whose leg it is, so no need for arrow, as long as everyone can cope with odd numbered legs = starred player throwing first. Having no arrow means all my scores are level with each other, without having a "step" ...

Yep it was a max game, think it is the second time that he has done that in his Countdown career. Thanks all for your kind words. Yeah, this was my 2nd ever maximum on TV (done it several times online practising). I'm still the only person to get a perfect game on TV so that's a nice accolade to ha...

Re: Markers?

Didn't Phil Taylor once correct a marker at Blackpool?! I don't see how a marker would have made any difference in this case - if a marker incorrectly marks down a score then it don't matter whether its on paper or pc... It does because the referee can quickly tell the player "176 left, not 19...

Re: New fella - tips n tricks?

When I said don't panic - it's not a statement to say it doesn't matter that you've made a mistake. It's a statement that if one happens, move on try not to think about it because thats when more errors are made and soon you can get yourself in a mess and have bigger problems. Ah, yeah, this. Such ...
