Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
I make fun of it but the serious side of it is that it sends the message that they aren't modern in their approach. The bdo may be stuck in the 70s/80s in many ways but TN are no better, including the choice of leadership. Experience alone isnt enough. Tradition is important but that doesn't mean t...

Re: DRA suspends McKinstry and Nijman
Whitcombe is right to an extent in that natural justice demands the DRA proves the players guilty, and the players have no obligation to prove themselves innocent. That said, failure to hand over phone records etc is the equivalent of going down the "no comment" route when being interview...

I'm just picturing the look of amused puzzlement on Theo Paphitis' face as Des struts in and says "Give me some money or I'll start dishing out the slaps"

Re: BDO Delegates Meeting, 19/04/2020
Bit surprised they didn't vote Robert MacDougall back on as well.
At times like this they could have used his clarity of thought and administrative aptitude.

Re: BDO Delegates Meeting, 19/04/2020
Voting Des back on is the only sensible course of action.
After all, none of this was his fault.

Re: Who did a worse job of running the BDO-Vote
Whilst both were equally culpable I suspect that history will be more sympathetic towards Sue. Her many strategic blunders were the result of being out of her depth, taking bad advice, and believing anything that any passing chancer told her. Des's mistakes came from always thinking he knew best, an...

Re: Who did a worse job of running the BDO-Vote
This was a toughie, however I have went for Des. Was going to catalogue my rationale for this choice, but on reflection, not necessary as we all are aware of how he bankrupted the BDO. On second thoughts, it is not a toughie, but rather a no brainer. In the broadest of strokes, the case against Sue...

Re: Who did a worse job of running the BDO-Vote
Obviously the correct answer is both as bad as each other, but the real mystery is how on earth did the BDO / counties find two such equally hopeless dickwits in such quick succession? At some point in the not too distant future, the last decade of the BDO will be an essential case study in Sports A...

Please remember, amongst all this speculation, that Des is completely blameless and his efforts were nothing short of heroic.

Re: Des Jacklin resigns
Assuming they arent paying the hotel until just before, who presumably have given the organisers a fixed cost in Turkish Lira (thats is the currency of North Cyprus, yes?), isn't holding on to everyones money for months also a bit of a currency gamble? The hotel arent going to be changing their rat...

Yes, but we all now know with complete certainty that Des was utterly blameless, so he'll be in the clear.

Re: Tri Nations Darts aka The Chicken Coup
Of course Tommy isn't going to name names. If he did, he'd have to mention Des, and then people might point out to him this is the same Des he and Pauly were literally begging people to vote for.

Re: Des Jacklin resigns
And as for me “rigging the draw so my Mrs gets a an easier game, first of all that’s pretty disrespectful to the other player that has had to win an International event out right or get so high up an a rankings system that gives her automatic qualification? Paula’s first game at the World Masters 2...

Re: Ladbrokes 2020 UK Open 6-8 March Somerset
More proof that the BDO fields in the past few years were much better than given credit for. Harms, Waites and Mckinstry all winning. Glenn at the top of the Premier League. The best players were spread across both codes all along. Even though I'm a lurker rather than a regular poster, you're posts...

Re: Gibraltar vs The BDO
Which "disgraceful and unfounded posts regarding myself, my wife and the BDO" have the GDA made? The BDO legal adviser must make a fortune. You can't blame Des for being protective of his wife. I think any man should step in and defend his wife when needed. I thought you'd left, Ian? I re...

Re: Gibraltar vs The BDO
The Jacklin corporation loves legal action, will the county’s have the balls to take legal action against the Jacklins for busting the BDO? Counties. Every time you pluralise word by using an apostrophe, a kitten dies. Also, as the BDO is a limited company, the morons who destroyed it would surely ...
