Re: BDO is still the best.
The BDO look after grass roots? What exactly do they do? They keep some fixtures going for SuperLeague/County games and as far as I can see, they don't actually run many tournaments just allow certain ones to be classed as "ranking events" so all the work horse tasks are done by other orga...

Re: BDO Fanatics
Why would Tommy Cox want to help the BDO anyway or am I missing the point ?? Because he's a fan of the sport and the BDO being so piss-poorly run was one of the reasons the players split away in the first place? Sure but he's a PDC man, don't get why he'd want to help them now (appreciate he tried ...

Re: BBC confirm Lakeside dropped.
This has probably already been stated and apologies if it has, but is it true that currently there is no contract for any TV station to show the 2017 Lakeside?

The BDO have to keep calling it that because it's probably the only thing keeping TV companies interestedifm wrote:It's the World Professional Darts Championships, always has been always will be.oche balboa wrote:Well i was wrong

Re: A way forward for the BDO
If the BDO updated their website and streamed on their own site with good comms and production values it could be used to show potential tv companies what the product is and the quality thereof. Have said this to anyone who'll listen that a magazine style program either on their site or on youtube ...

Re: A way forward for the BDO
When it comes to big prize funds, TV coverage and selling out venues; the BDO are finished. They like to go on about how they cater for all levels, they need to now focus on the county/superleague systems and lower and even then, I feel they will be in better hands other than the BDO's

Re: BBC Deal For Champions League of Darts
All the BDO stuff aside, this new tournament sounds absolutely rubbish to me. yeah, that's one thing we are all agreed on!! (but a necessary evil for a year) Got to start somewhere and what better than a showcase of the top 8 players to get a foot in the door. Short, fast paced, perfect for TV. As ...

Re: A way forward for the BDO
I think the BDO need to stop chasing bigger prize pools and TV deals and focus on improving the county/superleague system.

Re: BBC Deal For Champions League of Darts
Be very interested to see the TV presentation personnel at the event. The BBC love Bobby and so do the punters so I reckon he's a shoe in, Colin Murray will no doubt be the BBC's choice as presenter. Tony Green - don't think so, give John Gwynne a call............... I doubt the PDC will let Bobby ...

Re: BBC Deal For Champions League of Darts
Brilliant for the PDC. That's three big TV pies they have their feet in now. Like the format idea too. The moving of the Players Championship from Fri-Sun to Wed-Fri is surprising; not all players are full-time, so that could be difficult for some. Wonder how the groups will work? 1-4-5-8 and 2-3-6...
