It was a world class tournament when it was in Houghton-le-spring, not so much since it moved to Germany. The Matchplay has lost its prestige. A bit like the BDO Masters event. Re: Dartsnews.com

https://dartsnews.com/column-the-world-cup-of-darts-is-the-best-tournament-in-the-pdc-calendar/ The PDC World Championship is the ‘big one’. The World Matchplay is good too. But there’s nothing better than the World Cup of Darts. Yes, I’m going there. Good article. I say PDC Worlds and Lakeside are...

Re: Should darts players be talking more about mental health?

Anyway "Rob Cross felt like a zombie with depression in 2018 when he found that he could not live up to expectations as a reigning world champion. This year, Cross is back again, as witnessed by his two major finals this season. For example, "Voltage" was in the final battle of the UK...

Re: Should darts players be talking more about mental health?

Not sure about Cross. RVB was often clinically depressed. It was sad to see. Hes done so much for darts in Netherlands. Hes been a fine ambassador for sport worldwide. Unfortunately ‘our sport’ has mental health issues which have gone untreated. An example of this is our dear friend DBG. Had he got...

Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts

I'd go for de Zwaan at the moment but I think Watty will do ok. I would go for RVB. A proven stage player. The Netherlands are just weak with Wattimena in their team. Cant see them reaching the finals We need a player with more big stage experience. RVB or Harms would suit. What a moby If you could...

There should be just one qualifier, open no matter what nationality you have. It is a big problem.
