Re: BDO Delegates Meeting, 19/04/2020
Isn't a county system an outdated concept anyway? I include cricket as well as darts. You want some geographical subdivision of responsibity for development and lower level play. But, otherwise I agree. Technology makes organisation and travel so much easier that it is redundant for higher level co...

Re: Re: PDC Premier League 2021
Interesting changes, assuming a similar structure to before: - Post van Barneveld, the Netherlands is far less important. (Ironic if van der Voort wins the Matchplay). - The Henderson thing is over, but Aberdeen gets a last-8 week - Similarly, Glasgow gets a last 8 week. - O2 is changed to hosting t...

Re: Darts players gender reverse
A very transphobic thread. Trans hasn't been mentioned at all until now. If anything there was just a homophobic comment and the transformation is a bit sexist in its simplicity, since the male-to-female transformations use a stereotype of long, straight hair and the female-to-male use short hair. ...

Aspinall won the UK Open from outside the top 32, so they must have been eliminated.
But I assume you mean by the quarter-finals. :p

Bye Rob Cross. First seed to tumble, but won't be the last. Will be 1 of about 4 max but was the easiest one to predict. Possibly the worst defending champion in the history of the event and no one should be surprised he lost. Larry Butler was the first winner. Colin Lloyd averaged 90 in his first ...

Re: Who do you WANT to win the 2020 World Matchplay?
White. Because I want to see how many times people say that it doesn't count as a major win. I think that's just as likely, possibly more, if Durrant were to win. Or Bunting. Or Ratajski. Or Noppert. I don't think Durrant. He can choke in any venue. White is the ultimate floor player, so it has to ...

Re: Players Championship Tour 2020
Price v Petersen - no leg over FOURTEEN darts until the final one - ridiculous standard. 14, 11, 14, 12, 12, 13, 11, 12, 14, 11, 12, 14, 18. That is insane. Price 4 x 180, 2 x 177 and a 124 checkout. Petersen 7 x 180 and a 170 checkout. Assuming equal probability of players going out in 14 darts or...

Re: Players Championship Tour 2020
Even Lisa Ashton and Aaron Beeney had a win, both against 0-out-of-5-ers (Hunt and Waites respectively).
But it was relatively expensive for the hotel and hotel food so to break even players needed at least 2 wins.

Durrant beats Dennant despite poor finishing, because Dennant.
Klaasen missed 3 darts at d18 and de Sousa beats him 6-5.

Intriguing. Potentially a game changer. This completely negates the need for the BDO. Jason Thame / Modus are behind this, but Steve Brown is a very good front man. The company however has been struck off at Companies House? I really don't like the name though. The previous company of that name was...

Re: Unicorn
Actually I'd say the production quality of a TV board is less than a retail board. Because it doesn't have to last as long they put thinner wires and less compacted sisal. Remember a TV board may knly be used for 20 minutes. Those thinner wires on a retail board wouldn't hold up to months of poundi...

Re: Social Media Watch
I fail to see how this in any way is racist. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/52959297 People being unable to distinguish between people of the same ethnicity that's different to your ethnicity is quite normal. That's probably because you see their ethnicity as a distinguishing feature. But someb...

Re: PDC World Matchplay- 18th-26th July 2020-Blackpool
Apparently there will be a decision Friday about this event. Surely the only options are: - cancel it - hold it in Blackpool with no crowd - hold it somewhere else (tv studio) with no crowd - postpone it to a later date and find a venue. The World Matchplay is the 2nd major and should bump the Gran...

If we could ignore temperament there'd be a lot of "top 16 players".oche balboa wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 9:55 am Clemens is a top 16 player. Needs to be more cooler under pressure. Should have beaten Durrant at the GSOD with a good deal of ease.
