Re: Premier League 2022

Do they geoblock to Netherlands. If so can run with a Dutch VPN as YouTube’s geoblocking is rubbish vs the likes of BBC and Netflix, but then I guess Google don’t care and just say we tried if any rights holder complains.

Re: PDC Womens Matchplay 2022

Just noticed there is also a place in the Grand Slam. Would mean three places in 2022. Will probably take away one of the two from the Women’s Series OOM. Remember last time was only two weekend so OOM winner of each, Given Sherrock won both weekends they gave 2nd place to Ashton as 2nd on OOM for ...

No prize for correctly guessing which player’s photo is used to publicise this on BBC Sport website :)
Plus only one name checked in article.

Re: PDC Womens Matchplay 2022

Doesn’t one of the 3 Women’s PDC weekends that in aggregate are qualifier for this, clash with the EDO / WDF IOM event ? If so may encourage more women to bin off the EDO. Yes it does. TT had been quite upset about the clash. He reckons if the ladies don't attend these opens then they might be drop...

Re: Darts Raffle

You also need a free entry route to make it legal. Hence those competitions on TV regularly run by the likes of ITV and C5 make you pay to enter by phone, text or online but you can enter for free via post. ITV has had at least two cases over the years with these where the free post entries were jus...

Re: Premier League 2022

Jacqui just said on comms the top 4 in OOM still guaranteed a place in PL, so unless she’s talking bollocks that means Wade is definitely in. Will annoy some.

Re: World Seniors Darts Championships

Surely though the organisers must have known holding it during the Winter Olympics meant the BBC would giving it minimal exposure hence shunting it online. Also meant that Eurosport couldn’t cover it given the clash and ITV and Sky excluded given their PDC contracts so BT only alternative. Good to s...

Re: Ladbrokes Masters 2022

Presume the first few PL nights will be free on there as well given Viaplay don’t launch in Netherlands until 1st March.
If so get to watch for free if non Sky Sports subscriber but with Dutch commentary.

I believe Tour Card holders can play anything provided it isn’t streamed or televised. This is because the PDC considers it devalues their brand if you can watch their players at rival events.

Good job the ADC can’t afford streaming.

Re: Darts in the media

Durrant won’t start falling from his current #31 until after the Matchplay when £50k comes off. Before then he is only guaranteed £2k for being top 32 at the U.K. Open. He’s £25k above #33 in the OOM so can’t see anyone overtaking and dropping him out of top 32 before the Matchplay. The calendar ha...

Re: Cazoo to sponsor the PDC World Championship

Did the BDO WC have a headline sponsor after Embassy were banned from sponsorship.
Not counting Lakeside or those minor joke sponsors they got in the final days of the BDO.

As said earlier the BDO would have bitten the hand off any proper bookies that came calling offering them money.

Re: Cazoo to sponsor the PDC World Championship

Guess they want to get away from U.K. based bookies in case the Government goes ahead with banning them from sponsorship.

You still have Grand Slam with an Irish bookies but event held in Ireland.
WSOD Finals in Netherlands with a Dutch bookies / online casino company.

Re: World Seniors Darts Championships

Hull? It’s where the Seniors U.K. Snooker Championship is being held. Currently live on BBC iPlayer and Red Button Channel. Obviously big demand to watch old people sport in Hull, although snooker is 40+ but with those with World Snooker Tour cards and in top 64 of OOM excluded. The senior darts as...

Re: 2022 PDC World Darts Championships

What is the 10%. 'Darts' I dunno, the bit about the Hearns exploiting darts sounded about right Well, not that I imagine many here care, but to suggest that Hearn has spent the last year 'exploiting boxing' is a very generous, and mostly wrong, assessment. Hearn has had an awful year in boxing. Sev...

Re: Premier League 2022

Those first four days in Germany as single block is problem. Okay they could move the PL night to U.K., but if they delay or cancel the ET causes problems with its qualifying. They already have some of the qualifiers at that ET1 carried over from this year’s cancelled ET3 as some qualifying events w...

When is the first date of the PL that isnt in England? May be an issue crowd wise. You can check here. https://www.pdc.tv/tournaments/calendar?year=2022 Germany (Berlin) 24th Feb Followed a day later by ET1 in Riesa. They must both be at risk. Netherlands (Rotterdam) 24th March. The Dutch are still...
