Re: Any word from Austria
PHEW. BUT when Ladders or Tommo get on here they will tell you a VERY DIFFERENT story as they were booked in to fly from Munich to Manchester LAST NIGHT with Man airport of course closed. They managed to get on a flight to Gatwick at the last minute and Ade Lewis was with them BUT he went out for a...

Re: Why are there no black darts players?
Five years later in 1993 the top 32 players wanted to appoint a PR consultant to get them back on TV and improve the image of the game as their incomes were suffering and they wanted to get the game back to its previous golden years. (To this end drinking alcohol on the competition stage was banned...

Re: Why are there no black darts players?
Bill Davis from the US of A. You can't miss him with his lovely pink shirts. That's correct but I was talking about home grown talent from within the UK. A valid point was made earlier about Muslims not frequenting pubs, which is where the majority of us first learn to throw darts. Maybe there's an...

There certainly not common place down our pub. Seen 3 or 4 missed on the double, but never actually seen a live 9 darter.

Re: Where would ''the great'' Ted Hankey be....
Would the PDC Players Events without the crowd be helpful to Ted as he'd have a quiet atmosphere and no-one to start moaning at? Yes that is a huge problem with the majority of the PDC crowds.....no discipline or respect for the players when they are playing. Their drunken behavior is something aki...

Re: Why are there no black darts players?
Yep simply not true, as said above Al Hedman and Deta Hedman have both won international titles and I used to play with the late Carl Reece for Barry who was one of the best players in Glamorgan for several years. Darts is a game that crosses genders and race and surely players should be viewed as ...

Re: Why are there no black darts players?
Yes I know, and she is a great player, but I was talking in general (and to be quite honest with you wrote this post with the mens game in mind). I have been to many competitions over the years and there are very few black players present.Sharky wrote:Deta Hedman?

Why are there no black darts players?
Why are there no or very few black darts players? I have been playing darts for nigh on thirty years and during this time have encountered just two or three black dart players. I know there's quite a few overseas players of non caucasian origin but I just can't understand why there's so few players ...

Edward the Count :bat: was one of my favourite BDO players over the last 10 years. Although often struggling mentally with his inner demons, let’s not forget that he won several tournaments, including two World championships and still holds the record for the fastest ever final, a mere 46 minutes, w...
