I just think it's going to take a long time to have 2 events in 1 day with possibly 250 plus players in would it not make more sense to have the next best 128 on the challenger tour aswell as the pro tour?

Answer 1 -to stop players from just entering the challenger tour and not playing the pro tour. Answer 2 - time constraints 2 challenger tour events per day.

Will the challenge tour be capped at 128 players??? The only reason I ask is with certain players saying there only going qschool for 1 day to play the challenger tour if they do a league table like they do for the pro tour then they might not end up qualifying.

I agree with cannibal I'm expecting the challenger tour to have a big impact on the pro tour and I think it will grow year by year. Also the pdc youth tour is attracting all the best youngsters so over time I expect the pdc to grow even stronger by planning ahead.

Am I the only one thinking this big announcement of the world darts trophy is being massively over hyped? It's going to be on Eurosport so can't see it getting any more attention than the World Series of darts. I doubt there's going to be no where near as many fans as expected even if they give them...

Barry Hearn has confirmed on twitter the 4 lakeside semi finalist will be offered tour cards nobody else.

I wouldn't be suprised if they kept the challenger tour same as last year where as long as you wasn't in the top 64 of the order of merit you could play both pro tour and challenger tour.

Reads fine to me 'I hope they do as this year could be the year of more switchers with the challenger tour option' as the challenger tour is the new option pro tours been around a few years now.

I like the idea of the grand slam being a ranked event it's darts cup winners cup or even champions league. If the bdo stars want to play in it they'll have to go q-school like everybody else and have a chance at all the majors.
