Cant disagree, I would have thought he would have been in the running for a few event wins but not shown at all. Even struggling to get one of the Irish spots for the Grand Prix.

Re: Jamie Lewis - Challenger Tour - GSOD

I am not for one minute trying to say he shouldn't give a spot in any major I just think that his success is now going to mean that potentially a lesser player ends up in the GSOD when an inform Jamie misses out due to his success, would you rather have a guy who is a runner up on the main tour bea...

Re: 2013 Europe Cup Youth

Remarkable how very little interest by our forum folks there's been for this tourney and this thread. Maybe most of them wait until these kids qualify for Q-school and then quip something along the lines of "never seen this guy before, wow, he's one hell of a talent!!". Think it shows the...

Jamie Lewis - Challenger Tour - GSOD

Jamie did exceptionally well last week finishing as runner up in Gibraltar and picking up 10k. This has moved him up into the top 64 of the World Rankings.........unfortunately this now means he can no longer play in the Challenger tour and any hope of getting to the GSOD via this route are now over...

Re: BDO involvement around the world ?

I asked the BDO if as a British player I would have to sign a waiver to be allowed into the BDO Majors as per the American counterparts. I have been told that as British player you do not need to sign the waiver as all British players are being monitored by the BDO and if they play in a PDC event th...

Re: BDO involvement around the world ?

But why should any player from around the world be victimised now that the BDO have decided to select 10 events in various regions, that they have never organised before to form part of a World Championship organised by themselves that these players never intended in trying to be part of cause they...

Re: BDO involvement around the world ?

The BDO does seem to be attempting to enforce the rules as they offered the players from Canada to sign a waiver same as the Americans. (note the waiver is promising not to play PDC or affiliated events the rest of the year in order to receive any qualifying points) So would not be surprised if the...

Re: BDO involvement around the world ?

In reality I believe that person(s) should only morally play for one organisations World Championships qualifying points because at it currently stands you can easily qualify for both and then decide which one you want to play in or use the other as a form of a banker in you fail to qualify for the...

Re: BDO involvement around the world ?

the biggest thing that the BDO have is Lakeside which has history, a venue, TV coverage and prize money already in place.....it would take a lot of effort for the WDF or anybody else to set up a rival championship and that isn't going to happen. because of Lakeside then the BDO's worldwide power is...

Re: BDO involvement around the world ?

There's no other darts organisation that can boast this: On June 3rd, 2005 the application by The British Darts Organisation for darts to be recognised as a bona-fide sport was unanimously agreed by the sports councils of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Founded in 1973, THE BRITISH DARTS ORGANI...

Re: ITV & PDC - 4 events 3 year deal

Without actaully going through adverts one by one I can only hazard a guess that there are a lot more companies out there that currently want to have there companies associated with thw Rugby League or Tennis etc. Watch Golf and so many adverts are directly linked to Golf Brands etc. These will be h...

Re: ADO

North America really is so vast. We've heard from Tony Martin's perspective, mine just on hearsay and the relatively short conversations with players I know. Both past and present. If a tour even of mixed sorts both steel and soft tip were to emerge for these players to have a shot at either WC the...

Re: ADO

Hmm, might not matter anyway regarding the timing of the Catalonia event - it seems to be WDF-ranked only, even though the BDO Lakeside document had it as a Cat C. (?) While I'm on that tack - the Japan Open also seems to no longer be a BDO-ranked event, contrary to the ranking document from last D...
