Upgrade in TV coverage in the Netherlands this year. Not sure the men's quarter finals have been shown before.

Re: Michael Smith new #1

Given that 2 of the top 4 are out of form, and he has 885k from the 2022 season, including 710k from a final and 2 wins of Premier events at the back end of the year, he'll be there for a while. I think the best thing that happened to him was when he was dropped from the Premier League and he compla...

Re: 2023 PDC World Championship - Road to the Ally Pally

Abysmal first 2 rounds, probably the worst of all time. Decent third round Dull fourth round Couple of half decent quarter finals Awful semi finals Not even a barnstorming final can stop this being the worst PDC worlds of all time. Certainly the most underwhelming worlds I can remember. Usually enj...

Re: WDF World Ranking Criteria Updates

It's a significant reversal of policy. They were trying to be proactive, but it just made things harder overall.
The entry numbers are so much smaller for women that there was cross-subsidy.

I noted that the IOM and Scottish had men's prizes 3 times women's for most rounds.

91 average enough to win a PDC “world” quarter final, there. Despite his opponent averaging 97. Lowest winning quarter-final average back to the 2009 Championship. Re: Q School 2023

Just looking at who's entered the Dutch Open or Romanian weekend to see who may not be bothering with Q-School in a couple of weeks. So far, Ron Meulenkamp, Michael Unterbuchner, Wesley Harms and Beau Greaves have entered one or more. Slightly surprised about Meulenkamp, but the others are not unex...

Re: Isle of Man Darts Festival 2023

They're ignoring the WDF prize rules the same way as the Scottish Open. Ah wait, no. IOM Open isn't WDF. The Classic (Silver) will follow the WDF rules: L-style IOM MENS CLASSIC|IOM LADIES CLASSIC -|- WINNER - £1400.00|WINNER - £700.00 RUNNER UP - £700.00|RUNNER UP - £350.00 SEMI FINALISTS - £350.00...

A very sensible time to have it. Pretty much perfect in the calendar. But the 2-year ranking is a problem, because that means players who drop off the PDC Main Tour will find it harder to qualify, and in doing so that could discourage them from playing in anything but the top WDF events. I agree th...

Which says a lot about there not really being upsets.

Wade was considered vulnerable enough that there was a thought that Greaves could make a run to the 4th round.
His loss was no more surprising than Gurney's.

Re: 2023 PDC World Championship - Road to the Ally Pally

Meulenkamp has now lost his card. Unless Adrian Lewis retires in an attempt to get a Premier League spot. Next on the chopping block is Jeff Smith. But he can now only lose his card by players getting to Round 3 or later. Sedlacek, Jansen or Menzies can overtake him by winning their Round 2 games. J...

Meanwhile, excellent comeback from Cameron. 2 sets, 0-2 and 2 breaks down.

Edhouse let off in the 2nd set, Cameron never stopped playing. Kudos.
Not even put off by miscounting on a bull for the match. Stepped up with the darts and went 140, 140, 140.
