Re: Betfred World Matchplay 17-25 July 2021
Player and tournament stats for you. The overall average only bettered in recent years by the year of Taylor's last win. But I thought the lack of good matches was really noticeable. Dominant performance from Wright, only needed 105 legs to win the tournament - only MvG (once) and Taylor (5 times) ...

Re: Betfred World Matchplay 17-25 July 2021
I don’t disagree. Edit: @feebs Don't get me wrong. I liked Mardle as a player. For a number of years he seemed the most likely to give Taylor a game and I always cheered him on in doing so. He was a good player, and in a more open field like those today, he'd almost certainly have picked up a trink...

I don't have other tablets on whilst watching the darts, that's why. Love the game so try to watch as much of it as I can. Is that weird then?Black Velvet wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 11:19 pm Would love to know whose multiple you are. It’s a great character. Turn up after the event, act a bit weird, leave until the next night is over

Re: Betfred World Matchplay 17-25 July 2021
Come on!!!!!!. Who hasn't got tears!!!. Well done Peter!!!. Ditto, a quality albeit one-sided final. Dimitri may have missed a few darts at the start & end which cost him, Peter always on a finish at those points, but the Dimitri wasn't missing anything for 10 or so legs in the middle & sco...

Re: Betfred World Matchplay 17-25 July 2021
the 25th event of the year sees wright join clayton on 4 wins, with jose on 3 - noticeable that as well as mopping up nearly half the pots between them they are of the less histrionic group who don't air pump the stage or try to put opponents off, they just play all very well pumping and shouting l...

poor little tiny tears. The pole joke was....wait for a joke about the dartboard, which you lacked the comprehension to grasp. Because I like the pole does not mean I hate Dimi... I am going to let you in on a secret tiny tears, it is possible to watch a match and dislike neither player. You see un...

bomber how many comps in a row is it now the Hunchback has failed to win despite him running his trap ? Reckon it's 20 events since his win at the Players Finals last November, he played very well tonight but again falls short. I seem to recall bomber saying it was 24 around the time of the super s...

Class act from Wright signing the board and finding a kid to give it to. Never seem to see this in darts past few years.
Loved Mardle's "why would you want that board, the T20 must be ruined?" line.

MVG as ever gracious in defeat, despite what Sky make out with little interview clips over the years, MVG & Peter clearly get on well & have great respect for each other. Fake needle created for TV purposes.

Re: Betfred World Matchplay 17-25 July 2021
After being 6-2 down, deadly from Dimitri, delighted for him to prove last year wasn't a brilliant one-off. Snakebite incredible, from 27 legs he just had 2 below par legs from what I remember. Unstoppable in that form, but playing like that twice in a row doesn't happen in TV majors these days post...
