Re: World Grand Prix: Semi-Finals Discussion (Sat)
It's pretty evident too that, for one reason or another, he finds himself up to his chin in controversy and nonsense during every tournament these days. I was just throwing it out there that he might walk away soon. Everything you wrote sounds correct, and familiar. I completely expect Taylor to wi...

Re: World Grand Prix: Semi-Finals Discussion (Sat)
I want him to stay for as long as he always intended to. If he wins the world title in January, he'd have 17, and the prospect of 20 would become very real and perhaps irresistible. It seems these days that whether he's the cause or not, he seems to be surrounded by trouble, and with everything he ...

Re: Well done BDO Events
The thing I find a little odd is why wouldnt the BDO events guys announce the announcement when all the players were there as opposed to making it when most have gone home. Assuming they make it. Easy one Answer to this & possible the answer to life , the universe and everything is on their Twi...

Re: BDO World Trophy
What so you are saying that it is not allowed to show the history of a sporting organisation anymore.? OK I understand cutting out clips of Armstrong etc, But these events did happen. Would you cut out Eric and Lowe also from history of the BDO? If i was makinf a promotional film to entice corporat...

Re: BDO World Trophy
Just watched that video - out of all the players shown, aren't there more PDC players there than BDO ones? (Serious question, I haven't bothered to count myself!) If you were acting a professional proper manner you would never ever show 'the competition' in your promotional material. Can you imagin...

Re: Winmau IS televised after all
He got much more live tv coverage winning Lakeside than he did on Sky when he won the GSOD. Infinitely more so. Sorry I meant actual live playing darts coverage. I really do have a funny feeling if you disregard the darts extra show at eek o'clock on BBC 2 and the afternoon BBC 2 Dart along a bobo ...

John 'Boy' Walton for sure has a place in 2014 and 2015Ginge wrote:Obviously you would hope the BDO will clarify before end of play Tuesday who actually has a Lakeside place.
The BDO just won't be a 100% sure at the moment how he has qualified or for next year.

Re: Winmau IS televised after all
My initial excitement that this was on the telly has been replaced with a deep feeling of despair and worry that the bdo are on the way oot. Unless bdo events pull a massive rabbit out the hat then its all over for the bdo in its present form. Unfortunately the facts are at this point in time the B...

Re: Winmau IS televised after all
A very sorry state indeed and I honestly don't know where it's new breed of fans are going to come from....players wise I think youngsters are going to aim for the PDC much earlier in future and fans wise the PDC just has more to offer for a youngster watching My 8 year old is getting really into d...

Re: Winmau IS televised after all
Just as a thought with regards to the 'new' possible tv tournaments for the BDO
If the BDO / BDO Enterprises are unable to secure a major decent deal for the Masters given its history etc
what hope is there for any new tornament having any better coverage ?

Re: Winmau IS televised after all
So the Masters is now the richest 4 hours of TV time tournament in the world ? Not quite sure how often the people who are commenting on Eurosport actually watch the channel but if you do ever watch it regularly you will soon know that difference between what is shown and their scheduled shows is at...

Re: World Grand Prix Draw
Very excited about this upcoming tournament starting two weeks tonight. Double start is fascinating to watch, and for once it seems Whitlock has an easier draw - just check out the draws he's had in major events the past few years. For once he has got the luck of the draw - at least on paper anyway...

Re: No Adams in Selsey this weekend
If he isn't going to play for England again then no harm in jumping to the other side? :p Don't think he has the legs for a Skirt and with the hormone treatment he would also lose the beard :) I must of missed a thread what happened for Wolfie to kick off in the first place ? Was he asked to sign a...

Re: BDO on the tele: rumours, guesses, facts or trolling?
Its a fair point. Olly Croft would never have put the future of televised events in the hands of solar panel salesmen. They didn't do too bad in the hand of a tile salesmans hands in the late 70's to late 80's. Why not? Even the upper-tier BDO players are a diverse bunch...you've got those who simp...

Re: BDO on the tele: rumours, guesses, facts or trolling?
But all this is ifs buts and maybes. I also don't think Barry has half the influence on things as people think. At the very least he has to split his time 4 ways with Leyton Orient, Matchroom, PDC and Snooker. Players must think of the now and take advantage of what is happening. And that is good s...
