The Scottish Classic should be more attractive really...prize fund not great at the French so can only be points chasing for many and it looks like a better chance to chase some points in Scotland

From the BDO site today:

Due to the poor response so far the Scottish Darts Association Board of Directors has decided to extend the closing date for the Winmau Scottish Classic until 10.00am Saturday 30th August.
Players can be assured that the Scottish Darts Association will honour all advertised prize monies.

The Winmau Scottish Classic men’s singles is a BDO Category B event the ladies is a category C event
The Winner of both events will qualify for this years winmau world masters & Lakeside world pro play-offs

Doubt it as he don't have many holidays left and this would be Friday and possibly Monday off work as singles is over 2 days

the Scottish classic should be more attractive for the ladies as is a cat C and france is a cat D according to bdo inv rankings section, and the prizefund in france is MORE than at Scottish classic, its not point chasing for instance deta could win it and not gain any points.
Scotland only pays to last 8 as well.

tony singles is played to a finish on Saturday mate, ladies was only on the sunday last year to let ladies do ladies classic on the Saturday.
sunday is mens, ladies and mixed pairs , quite a few going over early train Saturday and straight home Saturday night.
you will be impressed by the control system the best in Europe each round winner hands card in that has bar code on it , within seconds prints out your next game possible opponents if their game not finished and the name of your opponent.
deta still not had a reply to points for this event unless made a C cat Ana will join Deta in just playing this for fun.

The losing semi-finalists were Brian Dawson and Jelger Tuinstra

Dawson and Head now have 174 points in the Lakeside table (currently tied 24th).
