That was a great 127 checkout from James.

Really surprised that Wilson missed 3 darts at D8. Had already hit it twice and evidenced by the data below is normally proficient on that double.

Absolutely sickening.
I wouldn't back Wilson with anyone's money, let alone my own, after watching that.

great, PDC TV...
deciding or at least at that point potentially last leg, PDC decide to show a test screen rather than the end of the match. fuckers.

Would be delighted for Pennywise to lose.
Bet he just does enough.
Well, you were right. Wilson had so many chances and did absolutely nothing. Poor Wright in the next round... Good thing is that he can't play worse than this.

Klaasen v Pipe on first tomorrow afternoon.
Will tune in 90 minutes after it starts and watch the last few legs.

A night to remind me why I love darts. All 4 matches had something different.

Turnaround from 3-1 down for West to end with a 100 average to knock out the typically unpredictable Smith, who lagged off after the first session.
Webster picked up his game from midway onwards and produced a thriller with Wade. Both will feel they should have got the job done/done earlier, but Webster held his nerve well in the end and scored very well in the deciding legs. Wade's awful form continues but he played reasonably well and missed three match darts, that's all.
Anderson given a great contest by Kist, who looked pain-free and up for it. A match of the highest standard, several 11-dart legs and Anderson, despite not getting preferential treatment / getting back into ordinary sleep patterns, pulled it out of the bag in superb style.
Wright grinded his way back and found his scoring & doubling at the end. Worrying how Wilson dipped off after starting so well. Pleased for Peter and tried not to blame the hectic schedule but you have to feel those who jetted off will have had their sleep patterns thrown off to be at their very best.

No, Anderson said it was tradition, Mardle agreed with him. It's bollocks anyway, Taylor didn't play first night in 2013, 14 and 15 when he was defending champ.

That's fair enough then.

Anderson does like a whinge but he wasn't the only one.

I'm not sure fatigued that sky have pushed all night is the right word. Jaded I would say looked evident on everyone of the seeds.

Good night of darts though.

Really surprised by today's results. Especially because of the defeat of Smith by West. A few years back West was an easy catch for anyone. He and his brother Tony played local darts in the Netherlands but that was it.

And am I the only one who's thinking that Wade is on his definite decline towards the end of the top 10?

Good morning all... Saw only the Wade and Gary matches plus the PDC article....

1. I was never in doubt about Wade getting out in the first round....

2. Gary has woken up just in time to save the match vs Kist

3. Good to see upsets in Tournaments when it does not involve the players you support... Not when these upsets fall in Wright's bracket though as I'm not a fan of his antics at all....

Webster was 2/1. I was going to have a big punt on him at that price. In the end I'm probably glad I didn't. My heart wouldn't have held out to the missed match darts etc.

Thought my money had gone down the pan tbh, but always got the feeling that if Webster started playing decent then Wade would have no answer.

Thought the atmosphere seemed great last night.
