Just got home, only stayed there for the morning but glad I went over.

Some points

Love the venue and think its the best venue for the Masters that Ive been to, plenty of space, stage setup looks decent and the way the venue was laid out meant if you wanted to sit down you could sit upstairs and watch any game you wanted from your vantage point.

Standard was the most varied Id seen, from some really good matches to absolute dross. You dont expect to be seeing 2 guys wasting 12-15 darts each on a double in a deciding leg. Some people just didnt seem up for it either, Adams spoke to noone, sat at the back of the prostate cancer booth, marked the game once he lost and left. Spoke to Larry Butler and he said only 5 people had bothered to come over from the USA and he didnt seem the slightest bit bothered that he went out in the first round.

Organisation was the worst Id ever seen it a BDO event. Cant be helped with the amount of no shows but at one point Fordham was sent to a board for his game that already had a match playing and one waiting, he was then sent to the board next to it which already had a game on and he was then told his game had been delayed, all while the next section had 6 empty boards with nothing going on. People still childishly complaining again, saw one young kid moaning to Dundas that he wanted his apponent scratched and actually said "well Im giving him until 1149 and then no later, your putting me through after that", just play your fucking games.

Best bit of the day - Jackie deiciding hes going to be a Canadian supporter for the first round and supporting the guy by just shouting "CANADA" at the start of each leg. Guy wins and Jackie just followed him shouting "Hey Canada!!" just to get his attention

Idiot of the day - The bloke that turns up to the wrong desk at 11am having just woke up and got to the venue, wanting to play his game and wondering why he was scratched when his game was supposed to have started a hour before.

Great to see local player Kate Hulme going well. Was playing well last Tuesday in the (very well run, If I do say so myself) Paulton Darts League :)

Just read on Fanatics that there are practice boards set up that only seeded players are allowed to chuck on. That can’t be right surely?

There was a "VIP" section that was only allowed for seeded players, dont know if thats what they are talking about.

Wouldnt be the only event that does that, the Dutch have a "VIP" section as well at the Dutch Open. Others probably do the same.

Scores all still there for me.

I count 28 no shows in the mens draw, so about 10% ?

Fair enough. They have to wait around all day while their opponents plays about 4 or 5 matches. They need a fair chance to get warmed up.

Updated. The man who can stop Menzies getting to the Grand Slam is Steve Alker. Im sure he made the TV stages last year? He shat himself, which is ironic.

Still dont know who Durrant is playing.

Scott Waites is out too, what's happened to him this season?

Either Durrant is going to make it 3 in a row or we're going to have a first time winner.

Have to say this new format is as bad as the last, last few years the top 16 have come in fresh on a new day on the stage and this year the odds are weighted in favour of the non seeded players who have played all day on the floor with the seed having to come in cold on the floor for one match. Would have been better for all players to have started in round one like the old days surely???

Its a terrible decision and one that ironically is going to piss off the top players.

Those same top players that the BDO moved the event for in the hope it would end up on TV

7 through and 9 out

Mad decision for them to go in late today
