Well done Mikey, Early season Pro Tour weekend double for him. Some good early money for those out of the top 16 for the rest of the year.

9k was last years figure for matchplay and i believe 400 for uk open?

I cant be arsed working it out properly but I think (and I stress that word) that this £12k puts him up another place in the Order of Merit, overtaking Wade.

it's literally only a few months ago that people were whingeing about the GSOD rules changing that shoehorned MVG into that via the youth tour i think.....it just shows how quickly things and fortunes can change.....he is some talent for sure.

No doubt he doesnt like more than 150 people or so at a darts event, these pampered players!

if they going to get this many people for the uk open qufiers they need to have more baords mabye up it 24 because with the 1st 2 rounds you could have over and hour beetween games and that is not ideal

Could be many issues at the moment, players behaviour, length of draws. order of merit changes, euro tour changes, loads of players have issues with one or the other. Could be an interesting year.

Well they've tackled the behaviour one, the length of draws is an issue as first games 12.00 and last finished at 21.00
What are the key changes in the oom?

Andy also didn't shake hands before and after the match, Ray did.

There weren't many nagtive sounds on his comeback, just a couple of players who ignored him.

Worth noting the new OoM after the weekend:

1 Taylor, Phil England £754,500
2 Lewis, Adrian England £354,300
3 van Gerwen, Michael Netherlands £334,700
4 Wade, James England £334,500

MvG sneaks £200 ahead of Wade.

MvG could easily be 2nd come the end of March, he only has £200 to defend in the month, Lewis has £10,600 on the line and there is a possible £32k to be won in the OoM in March so MvG could very easily overtake him.

FWIW, I maintain an "adjusted" OOM (@basgooner: in a spreadsheet) that deducts 10% in prize money credit every 12 weeks to give a ranking that's a little more common-sense than the real thing. Haven't updated it with the weekend results yet, but after the World Championship it looked like this:

Taylor 556,350
MvG 297,160
Lewis 228,270
Wade 219,950
Whitlock 203,900

Agree that it's only a matter of time before MvG is #2 on the official OOM, and once he's there it's going to be hard to dislodge him the rest of the year.
