Ted's Tour Card

Post by hang the dj »

So is there a chance Ted will not qualify for a tour card next year, his PDC have been dry poor & he ain't exactly flying up the rankings. If he doesn't automatically qualify will he go down the Q School route or wold he got back to the BDO(if that wold even bea realistic option for him)?

i assume he has to be top 64 in rankings to get it??

based on results since joining id say its very unlikely he will get that high as he barely seems to string

more than 1 win in a row together.

He seems to get beat by what might be regarded as the lesser lights in the pdc rankings as well, its not as if

he is walking into whitlocks and barneys every tournament.

His runs into latter stages of big tv tournaments are long gone in my opinion.

Agree with this.

I enjoy watching Ted play but I would be amazed if we ever see him do damage in a PDC major.

Shame, love watching the lad, no matter what others say he is class. . . When you have a turn like he had then you are going ot take time to come back and give it 100%. . . . Hope he gives it another go, proper go.

His route to the top 64 by year's end is simple - he needs to qualify for the World Championship through the Pro Tour. That would require ~10k in tour winnings, and plus 6k for the Ally Pally first round plus last year's winnings should be just enough for the top 64.

You think he'll achieve that?

Do you think he still has the hunger that he had back in his "glory days"?

Ted seems finished sadly, proof of that was his nomination for the scheme here. :DDD: :DDD: :DDD:

I tend to be rather harsh on Ted, it is only because I expected more from him. As a Bdo t.v Champion I thought he should be able to muddle with the PDC players alright. However, that said I do think he will make the final of the UK Open.

Not really. :) I meant "simple" to describe, not necessarily simple to achieve.

Ted and Phil are always the first ones I look out for when checking the " floor results" on PDC.tv And every time Ted sadly disappoints me. Health or other cause I don't know, fact is he tends to stumble over nearly every human darts hurdle these days.
I think he may be better off back in the BDO like Andy who found it too hard in the PDC too.

He's done enough to qualify for the TV stages of the UK Open. He's currently 77th in the OOM. I think unless he qualifies for the Worlds he will not be in the top 64 at the end of the season. I'm amazed he still hasn't qualified for the final stages of any European Tour event.

did he actually have a stroke then? wasnt he in the first players champs of the year? within a few months of the grandslam? miraculous recovery.

as for him not gaining a tour card, well on his recent form/results he would prob struggle at QS if he did have to enter that at the start of next year.

where for ted then as isnt there a rule where he wouldnt even be able to play BDO for 6 months?

He had a blinder against an in-form john part at the start of April (UK Qualifier 5 or 6, can't remember) - seemed to be very much back in the flow of things.

If someone was sportstatting his match against John Part, I reckon you'd have seen 105+ averages for both of them. He was on fire in that match
