Your best top 32 field...........

Post by OllyNufc180 »

Hi all.....

As we know, many PDC Majors like WMP, WGP, Players championship finals + Euro's etc. are 32 man fields........for whatever reason, we wont always get the best possible 32 man field , based on quality in the PDC .........

However, if you could hand pick the field for a 32 man event (say WMP) based on making the best event, with the best quality and literally who you feel the best 32 player in the PDC are, who together in a 32 man field would make for the highest quality, and most enetertainig tournament...............so what would your field look like??

I'd go for:

1. Phil Taylor
2. Raymond Van Barneveld
3. Simon Whitlock
4. Mervyn King
5. Gary Anderson
6. James Wade
7. Adrian Lewis
8. Andy Hamilton
9. Ronnie Baxter
10. Colin Lloyd
11. Mark Walsh
12. Robert Thornton
13. Paul Nicholson
14. Colin Osborne
15. Alan Tabern
16. Kevin Painter
17. Vincent Van der voort
18. Dennis Preistley
19. Co Stompe
20. Steve Beaton
21. Mark Dudbridge
22. Jelle Klaasen
23. Roland Scholten
24. Jamie Caven
25. Michael Van Gerwen
26. Denis Ovens
27. John Part
28. Terry Jenkins
29. Peter Manley
30. Kevin Mcdine
31. Mark Webster
32. Wayne Mardle

your probably thinking why Part, Manley and Mardle, but i rekon Part will still have the game to worry a few, and Mardle and Manley always add to the comps, and are capable player..........in terms of quality players like Andy Smith and Tony Eccles would be close candidates, as well as new faces like Steve Brown who's doing very well

what would yours be, based on what field of 32 you believe would make for the best comp in terms of quality and entertainment........

 i would obviously love to see scholten in all majors, but i did say the top 32 which i feel would make it the most interesting , best quality and most entertaining.......

I suppose with mardle and manley included in the list, that above statement is a contradiction

but do you see my point.......its fair to say, in current form scholten wouldnt be in the top 32 for an event

In my opinion the field of the world matchplay reflects best who are the best 32 at the pdc.
That's because they selected the first 16 of the OoM and the 16 best floor players that are not in the top 16, more fair is not possible me thinks.. :CDDD:

yeah i'd agree with that, certainly my favourite tournament is the matchplay rather than the worlds. love the format, and neeing to win by two clear legs makes for some fantastic drama (remember wade-scholten SF 2006). cracking atmosphere too it seems. really looking forward to it.
