James ‘The Machine’ Wade has spoken out about his battle with bipolar disorder, saying at his lowest point he ‘wanted the world to end’ while at his most manic he ‘bought many cars I couldn’t afford’ and ‘knocked down his own house’.

The winner of seven major PDC darts titles gave a humbling speech to a packed crowd at Roffey Sports & Social Club on Friday night (June 21) for a special evening of darts to raise money for Bipolar UK and the Bradbury Enhanced Care Service.

PDC World number three Wade was joined by fellow darts superstars including the newly crowned Premier League champion Michael Van Gerwen and Simon Whitlock for an excellent night which saw the superstars of the game taking on local darts players and signing autographs for two very worthy causes.

Great speech by James as an experience expert at such a relatively early age already. Will inspire other young patients to live life to the full.

BTW Gaz, there's only one JC and that's Johan Cruyff of course. ;)
