Love John Part in the commentary box - my fave by a mile. Has the advantage of player insight, knowledge is second to non & he's articulate with it too.

Hope sky will be using him more

They should do it like the cricket where they have ex-England captains/manager on the commentary team - except with World Champions for the darts.

I think Part and Mardle could be the best commentary team by an absolute mile.

Superb move by Sky.

John Part is an excellent commentator. Gives you a great insight into the game. The same way Chris Mason does on ITV

Part's commentary on Hankey's 170 outshot to win at Lakeside was terrific - made a memorable moment even better. BBC missed a trick.

And if David Croft would replace Stuart Pyke, darts would have a new dream trio.

Agree with this.

Now that John Gwynne has gone, does that mean that the useless bag of donkey turd Pyke is now the senior non-darting commentator?

Agreed that Part is brilliant in the box as is Croft, the two of them would be the best.
Have never been a big Mardle fan but he has improved somewhat as he's stopped trying to act the comedian.
They should oust Pyke, just loves the sound of his own voice and is highly irritating in my view.

part is in a class of his own

the sky commentary team has went downhill in recent years, mardle and bristow are much better on the exhibition circut than commentary box

i must admit John Part was excellent at the Matchplay....knocks Mason for six and then more !

i agree Croft would be good but no chance during the Matchplay as an F1 race was on...not sure of any clashes in other events but i do agree that Croft and Part together would be great if it could happen in any event.......i do like Mardle though.

Excellent news! Part's my favorite player, and i'd much rather he's be playing in events, but he's also incredibly knowledgeable, eloquent and witty. Good job Sky! :DDDD:
