I did have a wee chuckle at Chris Mason's tweet saying that everyone should be verified, especially when he told us a few wees ago that everyone on Twitter and Facebook WERE verified

Comments saying that that user should be reported to the police, what do people here think?
I think you will find I said if they were verified they would be accountable for their actions online, thus less likely to post some of the shit like we see above, why do you think people use a alias to post behind Nikkiboy?
Indeed now then Chris who pmd you. Or are you going to continue to be a hypocrite and allow them to stay anonymous?
Not anonymous to me, hope that helps, thanks Chris
So you continue to be a hypocrite then thanks for that. Also I dont use an alias but their we go for some reason it’s one rule for them and another for the rest of us.

Have a good day.
Everyday is a good day, maybe you should move out your mums box room and get yourself a bird pal, and by fek you are really are illiterate for someone who claims to be so well educated! No hypocrisy here pal the person who sent me a picture isn't anonymous, I know the fella, you see the difference brains?

Is this about hypocrisy, I wasn’t sure.

People use an alias for many reasons Chris, mostly because most forums have always used usernames rather than real names and it just kind of stuck, twitter is exactly the same. I was a member on BDO forums when they decided that using real names would be the way forward, I changed my username to my real name as did others and within a month the site effectively closed down due to no-one using it.

I think you believe that people don't use their real names for nefarious reasons, believing that they can get away with whatever they like under the comfort blanket of assumed anonymity, there is no such thing because just like Facebook and Twitter the forum sign up process involves that you verify your email address but unlike Facebook and Twitter this site automatically bars email addresses from anonymous email sites so is actually more secure and has a higher degree of tracability.

Of course there will always be the JCs of this world who think they are anonymous and spout all sorts of abuse at others but if you took a moment to check you would see that it is not spouted or allowed on here, all of his abuse is via his blog which is hosted by Google but I will bet that the moaners still use Google every single day still even though they are the ones who are publishing all his bile against them, indeed Larry Page is still awaiting his first visit from a BDO board member. The people who knock this forum should take a moment to digest that although I doubt most have the nouse to comprehend what it actually means.

The real name thing is a distraction that some people get hung up on, a hate or sexual crime is committed every 30 minutes on Facebook by people who use their real names, similarly on Twitter. Some use usernames because they have positions in organisations and provide the odd snippet of info that their bosses may frown upon. Most of us on here know who each other are and don't hide our real names, why would we? Varification on all forms of social media is not only impossible to police but could be easily circumvented by those wishing to hide their identity and abuse others, moreover in the world you are advocating people would be more vulnerable to abuse due to their false belief that everyone was verified and therefore they were more safe. A bit like when the emails claiming to be from your bank started arriving and people clicked the link and lost thousands because after all their bank was verified, wasn't it?

I assume from the winking face you already know who it is?

I haven't got a clue, but would guess it's Durrant from his comments in his GSOD interview on the other thread.

Long live the BDO. Long live proper darts. Long live the official body of darts. And long live the BDO die hards who defend the BDO on social media.

I didn't know who it was, but in all honesty, exactly like you, I did think it might be Duzza based on the interview you referred to.
