PL Discussion Week 10 - Sheffield

Post by ChrisW »

There is 6 weeks left to play in the PL, with the loss of Newton and Whitlock 2 players will be doubling up in the coming 4 weeks before Finals night in the O2 London May 22.

Thursday sees the last 8 head to Sheffield.

The line up on Thursday is:

Dave Chisnall v Raymond van Barneveld
Peter Wright v Gary Anderson
Michael van Gerwen v Robert Thornton
Phil Taylor v Adrian Lewis
Raymond van Barneveld v Peter Wright

Wright and Barney doubling up on the first 'after the relegation' nights.

No player has ever beaten Taylor twice in the PL, can Lewis break a mini-record? Who knows.

Best odds.

Taylor to win 10/11.
Wright to beat Bottler Ando 6/5.

No. In week 6 I said Taylor would win everything in the PL from that day on, and im still on track with my prediction.

Anyone know how Robert Thornton's foot/ankle/leg is after hurting it last week in his match against Phil?

Half day at work then across to Sheffield, think this is my sixth year - always a good night. Pretty pleased with how the fixtures turned out for tonight, Taylor v Lewis the one I am probably most looking forward to.

I guess the only appearance of Newton this week will be in the, "let's see what happened last week" segment.

Never mind. One missed double cost him. If he had hit it Robert 'smiley' Thornton would have gone.

Will the PL miss him? No. Just as, let's be honest, Wade hasn't been missed by the vast majority of fans.

Taylor v Lewis: should be a good one.

Message to Lewis: "don't be a happy, smiling, laughing chum to Taylor until after the match! he's got the killer instinct with you (even if he hides it with fake applause etc when you hit a big finish). You need to wise up on the oche".

I find it strange that they scheduled the same match (wright/anderson) two weeks running. Hopefully the result will be different this week.

I agree, Lewis needs more fire in his belly when he plays Taylor; he does against everyone else and that's been working great so far.

Expect Ando to bottle it against Wright and lose another match 7-5.
