Basically Col, until we are in a position to judge whether what is being proposed is in the best interest of England, we cannot be expected to go along with the unknown, we are an independent limited company, we are also the biggest majority of the BDO, and we are not being included whatsoever in any debates, we have no access to information, which seems different to Wales and Scotland, that is not our fault, we have asked to have the information, but it is not coming from the BDO.
I have spoken to the BDO events people and they have told me their side of the equation, no matter how impressed you or I may feel about what they are trying to achieve, or whether it is the last chance saloon for us, there comes more questions than answers from this, the answer to which are not in their remit.
This may be a case similar to the Rugby Union renegotiation of their Heineken Cup, there are options out there for us to consider, only when all these options are explored fully, would any competent organisation come to their conclusion, being left in the dark, doesn't strike me as the beginning of any sort of dialogue. Our door is always open. If your view this is civil war then you are entitled to your opinion.

Sure, that didn't work out, but it's hard to blame the BDO for Setanta (or ESPN) not having a viable business model.
No but you can blame the BDO for the abominations that were shown by them.
If the product had been of a marketable desirable standard then someone else would of taken up the TV rights.
There were some cracking games on Setanta.
Hendo beating Anderson with both averaging a hundred springs to mind.
Close, Ando 96.48 Hendo 95.49, great game to watch though.
Well they were both over a hundred at one point
Also remember a great game between Ando and Thornton and Ando and Montgomery. Basically Ando is very rarely involved in boring games
there were some decent games in amongst some rubbish.....the problem was it was the end of a long day and sometimes the coverage went on too late and the standards had dropped at the end of a long day...some good stuff crept through though and i generally enjoyed them
It was Thornton getting to the latter stages of one of these and playing Anderson on TV and coming home with £250 that made his decision to move to the PDC mid season right after the event....i think he made the right move
