Hong Kong is a city of mainland China nowadays right? But with its own political system. Would be a team China rather than Hong Kong? In any case, I'd like it. Team Japan did quite well last year and were a nice addition to the tournament. Hong Kong's players seem to be a bit better than Japans thoughphil davies wrote:Couple of good wins for Royden Lam today but just lost to Bowles.
Will there be a Hong Kong side at the World Cup with him and McKenzie?

Re: Players Championship 7&8 Entries
I have no idea. In the same vein, didn't today's #1 alternate Mark Frost enter yesterday's? He'd have been ahead of Whittingham.armchairfan wrote:Did Whittingham enter the Sunday event?
More generally, I'm wondering about if the alternates chosen are actually the next alternates on the list to begin with - e.g. Steve Douglas is in a higher position than the late-minute replacements at the last four events, and I'd be a bit surprised if he hadn't tried to enter either weekend. I recall Steve Maish saying last year that he'd offered to fill in for a last-minute withdrawal and was rejected because it would have been unfair (or somesuch) on players with higher priority who weren't able to be at the tournament on a just-in-case basis because they weren't local. I wonder if that has changed.

It just means that the Home Nation Qualifier will be an open draw (unless they plan to use results from last year to create a seeding list)JeroenvdV wrote:How do you think PDC will solve this problem?? Does that mean that there are more places for the european players??armchairfan wrote:

Re: Players Championship 7&8 Entries
They'll have a local qualifier for local players I expect. Expect Duo and Parody to make it in there by some means.JeroenvdV wrote:How do you think PDC will solve this problem?? Does that mean that there are more places for the european players??armchairfan wrote:

Re: Players Championship 7&8 Entries
It was never actually published how they picked last year's four qualifiers. I half-suspect the local organizers simply took the 4 highest-ranked players from the Gibraltar Super League or something, as the Gibraltar Darts Association's homepage didn't include a single hint of a separate qualifying event even having been scheduled, let alone any results of one.

This PDC article says a qualifier was staged in April. Are you saying it didn't happen?Zeyes wrote:It was never actually published how they picked last year's four qualifiers. In terms of Gibraltan darts, expect the same two qualifiers this time around
