Using his head going for a much easier 20 points in Finland rather than in Germany

Re: Jeffrey de Graaf wins Finnish Open
Did anyone complain about the events being seeded by the WDF rankings?
Edit: And the men's event even paid better at the top than the German one did, oy...

Winner €2,000
Final €1,000
Semi Final €450
Quarter Final €200
Re: Jeffrey de Graaf wins Finnish Open
Sure, but high-seeded players shouldn't be concerned about finishing outside the top 8 in a field of only 80-odd participants.foggs3355 wrote:but only paid to the last 8

It's an interesting contrast, actually:
Finland pros:
- better prize money
- easier ranking points
Germany pros:
- easier travel (I presume, anyway)
- two ranked events
Re: Jeffrey de Graaf wins Finnish Open
Easier travel for who?

Re: Jeffrey de Graaf wins Finnish Open
Maybe. Zeyes made the post so wait to see what he has to say. I didn't look into travel costs location etc. But there is a hell of a lot of nationalities entering both. I presume the people closer to the Finnish Open would go for that and the people closer to the Munster Open would select that one. As Tony pointed out some may make a choice on chances of picking up some points. I doubt many are doing that. Most will fall into which is closest.foggs3355 wrote:British based playersChrisW wrote:Easier travel for who?
Re: Jeffrey de Graaf wins Finnish Open
Pretty much everyone not located in Scandinavia or the Baltic area, I presumed, although I see now there's decent flight connectivity from London (and some from Manchester).ChrisW wrote:Easier travel for who?
Re: Jeffrey de Graaf wins Finnish Open
Incidentally, I see the top 8 seeds all made the quarterfinals, that's got to be pretty rare.

YES:)
YES:)
Re: Jeffrey de Graaf wins Finnish Open
Good prize money but don`t forget the cost of everything in Finland. The Scandinavian countries rate as one of the highest if not the highest in the world when it comes to a pint of beer. Food and hotels are also expensive compared to many countries. The quarter final pay out in Finland for someone who has travelled there from outside of Scandinavia has probably lost money over the weekend..... that`s in the men`s event.... the ladies probably lost money even if they won ( for ladies outside of Scandinavia )
