Turkish Open/WDF World Cup to be televised?

Post by Addicks Fan »

Found this flyer for the Turkish Open from the WDF website:

http://www.dartswdf.com/tournament_flye ... shOpen.pdf

It states 'Eurosport schedule to be announced' - I wonder if that means they are going to show both events, or just the World Cup?

Where are all the folks who made the jokes about BDO/WDF folks having their once a year TV coverage? talk about a turn around for the BDO side of the game.

Maybe there will be a prize fund for the world cup? maybe not!

They wouldnt say no to playing for a bit of cash though, given the choice.

Thankfully there is a ranking event a few days beforehand they can earn a bit of coin at.

You usually find an all-expenses paid trip to a far-flung area of the world helps sweeten the deal for some nations :)

I wouldnt have turned down a free trip to St Johns, or Perth, or an all inclusive hotel in Turkey, or wherever else the event has been held.

On BBC website it says foreign office changing status for travel to Turkey to 'Caution'. Not sure what that precisely means but they have just had the highest casualties in a terrorist attack, and an increase in caution is needed. Still think it is save to go but i know someone mentioned this aspect on BDOF a while back and Ross deleted the thread saying it was a darts site not a politics site.

Stop your belly aching, Turkey is far safer than many countries.......... including the USA. Would there be all this alarm if the competition was held in the states? I don't think so.

edit to above post: they have 'urged caution' for Brits travelling.

Paddy: i'm not belly aching just pointing out something on today's news. Election rallies are being cancelled and tension is very high in the country. It's the foreign office not me urging caution.
