Re: RIP to a forum legend
Could not believe it when I saw it on Rout's Facebook earlier.
Paul was a young, intelligent, guy who started the Doublefinish forum way back when.
I have no idea what happened, but Rout says he had been ill for a while.
RIP Paul.

Re: RIP to a forum legend
I think it is fair to say we had some good rucks with Paul back in the day but he was a good fella the times I met him.
Started df and provided a lot of entertainment.

Upsetting news. He wasn't without his bad points (aren't we all) but he was always very helpful regarding technical stuff whenever I asked for it over on df.
Thank you Paul. R.I.P.

Re: RIP to a forum legend
Met Paul a number of times over the past five years or so. Last time I saw him was in October just gone, he and Mark (his brother, also on forums) just so happen to run my mum's local pub and therefore I was in there with her on a Saturday night whilst visiting her. Paul came downstairs (he wasnt even working that evening) and we spent a good hour or so talking the usual shit, he seemed happy with the world, said he had a missus on the go and he was happy with things.
Hopefully he wasnt in any pain as he slipped away at no age at all
RIP

I don't know either Sharky or Rout other than what I have read on the forums, but RIP Sharky and condolences to Rout and his family
Re: RIP to a forum legend
Had a good chat with Sharky in Barnsley a few years ago, passionate man who had the right spirit for forum land, loads of banter & fun BUT knew the difference between right and wrong.
Thoughts are with Rout at this time.

Re: RIP to a forum legend
As many people on here and df I never had the pleasure of meeting Sharky in person but enjoyed many a laugh on forums with him sometimes at my expense.
A great loss to his family and to all of us Forum Family.
We all have our disagreements on here but one thing is we all all part of the big darts family and Sharky is one of those people that was instrumental in making this happen.
RIP Sharky I shall hit a 180 and raise a glass to you this evening !!!

Always so sad to lose a family member and I consider TSoD a bit of a family even though I'm more away from home than I used to.
R.I.P. Paul (writing this makes me chuckle even more after having watched another Paul for the last time in F & F 7).
And my sincerest condolences to those close to him.

The funeral for Paul will take place on MONDAY APRIL 20th at 11.45am at Lancaster and Morecambe crematorium. Following that a celebration of Paul's life at Wetherspoons in Morecambe. It is requested for Family flowers only. If desired, any contributions to the Mulberry community project (www.mulberrycompro.co.uk). We wish for an informal affair, which includes dress code. Please feel free to share this with anyone you feel may wish to know. Many thanks.
