There is no way on earth they could afford that.
Is the correct answer. The place would also require a significant amount spending on it, its hardly a lick of paint job from what I have read/seen.
Jesus! Lakeside is massive on a huge plot of land, the BDO couldn't afford the driveway.

Perhaps the BDO should buy youtube too so it can increase its viewing numbers on streams

How "detached" is the room they use at Lakeside for the darts to the rest of the place? Is the hotel ABOVE it in part?

Point being if they do decide to sell up is there any chance they could retain that room whilst the rest of the complex goes?

In fairness I doubt very much if PDC could either, 2 hotels, Lakeside lodges, 2 big venue suites a nightclub , and that's without his nearby hotels !

If the BDO bought all the beer companies as well as lakeside they could further enhance their profits for the event.

And all the crisp companies. And nuts. And pork scratchings.

Not forgetting the hot dog companies.
They could also buy the newspapers and guarantee 'zero mention' of the BDO in all editions.

If you are going to try and generate investment then having such an asset on the books of the company in bricks and mortar would surely be a big attraction? Speculate to accumulate and all that. The point I am trying to make is that when Potter pops his clogs or sells up (whichever is sooner) the complex may be up for grabs. As 'the home of world darts' a buyer/investor may see the value of investing in the BDO as one of the Lakeside's major attractions.

Its 100 acres of land in Surrey.

This 10 acre plot is currently up for sale in Godalming (not a million miles away) for FOUR MILLION pounds.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/commercial-p ... 23625.html

Even if its one tenth of the price you are looking at ten million pounds to buy the land and then take on the complex as well. Where on earth do you imagine this money coming from?

I think the BDO should be looking at buying an acre of land in Manhattan, they can use the change they get from the Lakeside purchase to buy it.

Just saying Bradders .

You say £10,000,000 for a plot of land ! Would imagine each of the hotels are worth more than that ! It's not a case of family not wanting the darts , more a case of a family battle to see who becomes CEO .

Thats the whole point, if a plot of empty land a few miles down the road is worth £4m, how much is an area of land ten times the size with a hotel and function rooms plonked on it going to be to buy?
