Re: PCF Schedule of Play
I like this tournament as the draw is totally different to normal.
Where else would you get Phil Taylor v Gary Anderson in round 1? The U.K. Open is the only other one I can think of.

Re: PCF Schedule of Play
Looking at the four quarters, I can see Mensur having a good run here. Opportunity for Barney to be his opponent there.
Adrian Lewis v Peter Wright should be QF2 if it goes with form.
QF3 - MVG v Chizzy/Robert Thornton
QF4 - toughest quarter to call having Gary Anderson/Phil Taylor in round 1. The other half of it could go any way too really.
Be interesting to see how it goes!

Re: PCF Schedule of Play
This tournament has apparently totally sold out and has been for weeks. The PDC seem to be making more money than the Royal Mint at the moment. Compare this to the Doncaster Dome which was pathetic in terms of turnout.
Re: PCF Schedule of Play
It's a perfect scenario for all involved. Butlin's get a weekend in November booked up, PDC get a good venue and the crowd get a weekend away. Doncaster doesn't quite have the same appeal.Dannyboy wrote:This tournament has apparently totally sold out and has been for weeks. Re: PCF Schedule of Play
I think it's a fantastic venue choice. The PDC must like it as they use it for two tournaments.
Great choice for getting all six sessions of darts in for what I imagine is a pretty decent price when you consider accommodation as well.
Certainly better than the Doncaster Dome - I remember the MC being pretty dreadful too from memory (obviously wasn't John McDonald!)

And sold out to folks watching, not playing, darts. Bdo events didn't understand this! Good advert on itv4 tonight for this.

Re: PCF Schedule of Play
Tough game for Webster but a great comeback this year for him. Well done Webby.
Would love for Peter Wright to win this. When he started with the 'hair-cut' etc i thought he looked daft and came over as some kind of 'plastic punk'. But he's playing well and the fact that many in the crowd have those wigs shows his persona (along with playing well) has paid off.

Not a huge amount of interest here for this by the looks of it. Just starting on ITV.

It's all to much, it's an almost constant stream of repetition, it won't be much longer before the audience gets bored with the same old shit.ChrisW wrote:Not a huge amount of interest here for this by the looks of it. Just starting on ITV.

I will be watching occasionally, I actually agree with Paddy. I do agree darts on TV is good but feel we do need more variety in players and formats.
Thinking of one.

Pipe well below par, 6-1 to Vinny.

Re: PCF Schedule of Play
Norris wins 6-3. A match littered with missed doubles (I think the commentator said 34) and general poor quality.

What channel is this on?
"it's the same trolls spouting the same crap every other post.... you have to be some kind of sad act to watch nearly 8 hours of darts a day for 9 days just to post about how crap it is"

Re: PCF Schedule of Play
Got this on sky+. will be watching over the weekend. But maybe not good having the world series final last weekend. But last week, and i reckon this weekend, does build up nicely to the world championship. When we get 'bored' of that one we are in trouble.
Sold out again! The PDC has got to be the toughest bubble in existence. It's been close to popping for the last few years.

Re: PCF Schedule of Play
The Friday afternoon is always quiet here. The Mon-Fri brigade will only have been chucked out at 10am and the weekenders from 2pm-4pm depending on accommodation - unless they've changed it from previous years.
Will be busier tonight I'm sure - and remember it's the same bums on the same seats all weekend, so it's not as if ticket revenue is being lost this afternoon.
