Should the PDC have a streamed board for the Players Championship events?

Post by dartsweekly »

Did a Twitter poll with this question at the weekend and 90% voted for yes. What do you guys think? Should the PDC have a streamed board for the Players Championship events?

Would the 90% of people who said yes be willing to club together to pay for all associated costs?

Yes they should, and there has been talk of it happening in the past.

Not sure if its still on the agenda now.

I would happily pay a couple of quid a month to subscribe to such a thing.

Sounds great! I have to admit that since I usually work in the weekends I do not know whether I would be willing to pay for it, since I probably can use it seldom.

It was looked into, the logistics not least inadequate broadband speeds at the leisure centres were an issue but I think there was also something to do with sportstat and a delay in the betting for the games.

What's the point, if you stream it through PDC.TV and try and charge a couple of quid, you will just get the thieving bastards like IFM, Paddy and the rest watching it through their dodgy streams. Streaming is the future they keep saying, only because they are too tight to pay for anything...!!

Look at streaming numbers for darts, I think the demand is just to small

They only watch when it's BDO darts on Eurosport Asia.

This thieving bastard paid a monthly subscription to pdc.tv for absolutely nothing.

Why should we have to pay when the BDO/EDO, etc events are streamed very very well free of charge ???

And the answer = yes a tv lane would be great with selected matches from all rounds and then all quarters/semis/final all streamed!

How would they be able to hide the sub 70 averages if the matches are streamed?

The same way they didnt hide them when sportstat was around.

And this is one of the reasons why they wont do it.

Much more merit in the idea of perhaps streaming the Last 8, but someone has to pay for it all and given they have just cut SportStat coverage, that won be happening soon.
