Why would they need to be affiliated?
Why deduct the UK and Ireland? there's 5 alone.
"it's the same trolls spouting the same crap every other post.... you have to be some kind of sad act to watch nearly 8 hours of darts a day for 9 days just to post about how crap it is"

Maybe the WDF should concentrate on making sure that those they entrust with the World Championship can get it on TV rather than pointless quests to get darts into the Olympics.

Is not only a condition to be a WDF member for a country to arrive to 75 countries.
Need darts as sport recognized for the sports ministeri of every country and others, at the moment its not a real
situation for all WDF members (and PDC, and others international steel / tip darts federations, of course).
Moreover the IOC have the Olympic letter, and there are some specifications to complete, as same the specific rules.

Czech Darts Organisation Receive Official Recognition
Monday May 2, 2016
The Czech Darts Organisation has informed us today that, after prolonged negotiations, they have finally achieved recognition as a full partner by the Czech Olympic Committee. The CDO is therefore officially recognised as the only organisation officially representing the sport of darts in the Czech Republic. Attached announcement from the Czech Darts Organisation.
The WDF Executive congratulates the CDO on this fine achievement.

Not for the national darts orgs. State funding can be tied to fulfilling the requirements set out by the national Olympic committees. It's more an administrative thing, doesn't have much to do with the actual likelihood of darts getting into the Olympics.

Add to that makes the idiots who run the wdf look as if they actually are doing something.

Pub game or olympic sport...?

It would change things up - who would do well in a totally 'dry' environment when the pressure was on?
