ENGLAND OPEN 17-19th JUNE

Post by WCDPA »

Well done to Jean Haywood and TT after listening to the players last year and negotiating with Bunn leisure they have upped the sponsorship , this has been passed straight on to the prizefunds of the English national singles and both Men's and ladies events now become Cat B.
With all the negativity surrounding our side of darts it should be noted for the men we now provide
3 x Cat A+ events and 3 Cat B events.
For the ladies we have:
3 x Cat A+ events, 1 Cat A event and 2 Bs

Add our good friends at jersey with 2 cat Bs , our events show good value for money for darters in our system.
Our board have its detractors for sure, but it should be noted we don't lose money ! ( we have none to lose ) we at least stream all our events and our board constantly strive to improve for the players and the BDO system .
Well done Jean and tommy and rest of the board.

You'll be able to watch some of it on a streaming channel so don't go worrying yourself.

Paddy, can I have a breakdown of all monies for this competition please? I would like to know exactly how much money is being brought in through sponsorship. How much will be generated by entry fees. How much by the venue etc. . . .

Can we also have a look at the books of the organisers? I need to see their current bank balance. And the chairmans personal one. And any money he has saved up in his childrens trust funds.

Also, if there is a bar at the venue can we see their annual figures for the last 10 years of trading please?

Only then will i know if I can attend and/or enjoy this event.

Bradders will be back soon, I'm sure he'll be on the case, probably already got his freedom of information letters ready to send out. I understand Bun leisure have been bombarded with phone calls from a squeaky voiced person (they're not sure if it's a man or woman) calling from somewhere in Spain asking awkward questions and insisting on auditing their accounts.........

If I beat you in the first round, i'll let myself be known ;-)

And if the casual darts fan isn't reading this, then your views on the BDO will all be for nothing. ;-)

Not very sporting, come and see me and I will buy you a pint, we're like that in the BDO you know.

BDO fans are by no way casual fans.......we are the blood life of the sport.
