There is a women’s tour
The one she sacked off to play in the exbo
True, and I’m sure that if she had been good enough to win a tour card then she wouldn’t have asked for a women’s tour and places in tournaments. If you ain’t good enough tough titties.

PDC are not interested in women’s only darts.
Correct. And neither are the public.
The novelty of the top ladies playing the men is still appealing to darts fans though.

That's not really true, in fairness.

Darts fans had little interest in the women's matches at the O2, let alone the public and let alone in a whole women's tour.

Apart from about 3 matches the standard at the women's world's was shocking and apart from Lisa on the first 2 days the women were shocking at q school so Barry would be mad to entertain a full women's tour on the evidence they put in front of him

Have you got anything to back this blatant generalisation up? (Other than your own chauvinist opinion of course)

Ashton: #93 - 85.31
Sherrock: #104 - 84.74
Suzuki: #256 - 80.61
The rest were worse.

Sherrock did OK, but that was it.

No chance of a tour. But they'll continue to promote women's darts in other ways, through exhibitions and the special spots at the GSoD as well as the 2 World Championship qualifying spots. It has to be a long-term effort if they want more female players at Ashton's level or better.

Let's face it, if the PDC thought there was money/interest in women's darts, they would be working to develop a satellite tour to link with their own, as they have done in various countries/regions round the world. The tokenism they are currently indulging in is to increase interest in the tournaments Fallon will be involved in, nothing more, nothing less.

You will not see a big change in the standard of ladies darts overall until prize money on offer to women makes it an attractive option for more women to take seriously. The size of the playing pool in European opens and qualifiers tells you everything about the current attractiveness of darts to women.

I don't blame her for taking the considerable sums of money being offered her, but it would be good if she could work with the WDF/BDO to help make the existing Ladies tour more attractive to play in, because in all likelihood, that will be where she will spend the vast majority of her darting career playing.

one tour for all, everyone can have as much prize money as they can win, there are no limits

sponsors will not pay good money for womens darts (or football, or snooker) because the standard is, relatively, shite

keeping it totally open eliminates any possible claims of discrimination also

No, no, no. If you hate women's darts it must be because you hate women.
It can't be that it's usually complete shite.

A good read that - and he's right he never does slate the BDO.

For goodness sake. Compare the public interest generated from Fallon's matches against the men to that of Laura Turner vs Deta Hedman.

It's always been like that. Ever since the BDO introduced a women's world championship at Lakeside in 2001, you can clearly see the difference in the atmosphere between those matches and the regular Lakeside fare.

As for "chauvinist", sigh. I never took you for a white knight.

Yeah, it's a bloody stupid argument. I'd be quite happy to see a woman competing well at the top of the PDC. And they have the opportunity to do so, with Q-school. There is no limit on the number of females that can enter Q-school, so where's the problem?

I honestly don't know what Fallon expects. Does she want both? A woman's tour AND the chance to play the men at the Ally Pally? That's hardly fair. There's no market for a woman's tour, and you certainly shouldn't be able to have it both ways.

In reality she means "I am as good as some of the men and most of the other ladies are a long way behind"
