"IMPORTANT change to start time for 2017 Championships. Due to the broadcast schedule by Channel 4, some games are now starting earlier than the times printed on tickets. The following are now the times. We apologise for this late notification which was due to television scheduling:

Saturday 07 January: Starts at 1pm
Sunday 08 January: Starts at 1pm
Monday 09 January: Starts at 1pm
Tuesday 10 January: NEW ... starts at 1230pm
Wednesday 11 January: NEW ... starts at 1230pm
Thursday 12 January: NEW ... starts at 1230pm
Friday 13 January: NEW ... starts at 1230pm
Saturday 14 January: Starts at 2:30pm
Sunday 15 January: NEW ... starts at 445pm
NEW ... All evening games start at 7pm.
A bit strange that they're mentioning only C4 as the reason when the biggest changes are in the evening sessions that presumably will be on BT.

Wdt and the masters at this venue. Looking at the draw: similar players at the same venue. Talk about saturation. Hope this is a one off (ie all 3 comps here). Can't even call the bdo wc: lakeside. Diluted, not strengthened the brand imo.
i agree i think world masters and wdt need different venues next year this year they did well for the events to get on tv and take place next year new venues Need to be found
Heard the WC in 2018 will be put out to tender to venues as deal with Lakeside is up and the money received from Channel 4 will be put into that world Champs and not the up and coming one.
Are the BDO just covering their backsides on this? There is no chance they'll leave Lakeside unless they no longer decide to put the money up.
Lakeside is the one thing that the PDC would potentially want to take out of the BDO. That said, like the Circus Tavern, business moves on.

Olive Byamukama - assumed this was a Russian-based qualifier!

She comes under the Scottish flag, from Inverness. Plays County for Highlands - average this season of 18.25 (21.25 with her P3 W3 record); ranked 98th, and beat Tricia Wright (of GSOD fame) who is ranked 2nd.

IMO the only situation where it leaves Lakeside will be when Potter dies and if the site is redeveloped, land will be worth an absolute fortune and much less hassle for the heirs to sell to the developers and count the money than keeping on a dated hotel complex.

No chance it will leave any time before that, if at all if they keep the place after Bob goes.

Roger Janssen doesn't deserve to be at Lakeside

He finished 8th in the rankings and failed in the qualifier

But he was the highest in his table once all Main Table and other qualifiers are accounted for, so you cant just give it to someone else, would be uproar.

Ryan Joyce only finished 8th in his regional table.....

Think Ryan Joyce will be a dark horse , excellent player wins a good chunk of the competitions in the North East which is no mean feat

Let's hope it's better than the 3 days of shite tossed at the board at the masters. Was only ever one winner from the off. Standard seems to be getting worse.

Disagree - thought the games were all good to watch and enjoyable.

Always great to see new players from all over the world which Winmau World Masters is unique for and they all impressed.

Duzza looked strong from round one but only when he came back to win a cracker vs Harms did it seem there was only ever one winner - he never looked back after that.

Really feel for Deta but fair play to Trina. Hopefully Deta will win in January.

I'm just a darts purist. There were some poorish games but exciting in their own way.

At Alex Palace they just wash them out using the fire hoses between sessions. You can still see the vomit that splashes up the walls.

At Ally Pally it takes the duration of an entire match to get to the fukking toilet and back.

That's why most of the drunks just urinate under their table.

No, no. If you're on one of the front tables everything's fine and dandy. Anybody who argues otherwise is just advancing their own biased agenda.
