Excellent performance. The more I think about it there is only one actual World Championships and that's the one which caters for all players, women, men and actuall youths. The other is just a show piece and not reflective of a true World championship and solely designed for entertainment purposes. A great women's final was a pleasure to watch.

Usual Shitty prospects?devosteve wrote:Cracking final.
I do find it amusing that there are posters who call folks who they deem to be anti bdo, bigots (yes that term is used), haters and trolls etc yet some of those very posters criticise and knock ladies darts. Double standards? 2 faced?
Always like ladies darts. Usp For the bdo.
Re: 2018 BDO World Championship- Lakeside- 6th-14th January
Yes that was a good match....but my feeling is the BDO have a decent product in the men if they could market it properly and that having to have the ladies in the same package for everything makes it far harder to sell to any major TV station....devosteve wrote:Cracking final.

I think as long as they keep the ladies at 3 sets for the early rounds it's a entertaining watch. The youth final was spiffing to say the least.trotter wrote:Yes that was a good match....but my feeling is the BDO have a decent product in the men if they could market it properly and that having to have the ladies in the same package for everything makes it far harder to sell to any major TV station....devosteve wrote:Cracking final.

The disappointment for the tournament as a whole was the likes of Winstanley and de Graaf failing to play to the standard we almost expect from them.trotter wrote:Good advert for ladies darts that was.....I'm not a fan of televised ladies darts generally ...but if all matches were like that then it would be watchable ...good match
Are the matches too short to allow a comeback before the final? But then again, not enough quality players to allow for longer matches?

Speaking of the youth final, has anyone clicked on the link for the results at the BDO website and found that they've linked the youth averages and not the women's averages?Paddy McGinty wrote:I think as long as they keep the ladies at 3 sets for the early rounds it's a entertaining watch. Maybe they've changed it since then but that's what's there. Clicked on it three times to be sure.
I'm sure it was a great final. I'll have to watch it later because I wasn't too keen on getting up hours before I wanted to.

Re: 2018 BDO World Championship- Lakeside- 6th-14th January
Nip and tuck this game, i've a feeling this will go all the way. Unless someone starts nailing doubles for fun.
Re: 2018 BDO World Championship- Lakeside- 6th-14th January
Durrant just seems to have a little bit too much on the doubles and generally closing down legs. Still room for one to step up the pace.
This is what makes it a bit too easy for Durrant at Lakeside - he can throw 96-99 averages all day long but no one can stick a string of 12/15 dart legs against him. Probably also why he would struggle against the top6 or so in pdc. A lot like Adams really.
