Adams flirting with the Prelim Round, there. Needs a good weekend in Selsey.
Noppert has one box to fill and will no doubt fill it in Bridlington as he isnt entered this weekend. Well, not in the darts event anyway, his personal life is his own business.....

Can we now put the issue to bed?Zapp Brannigan wrote:I said last august when it was announced that I wouldn't be surprised if there was an option to end the deal after 1 year, or that the deal was a 1+1 deal as I doubt C4 would just give them money for 2 years of coverage when they have no idea what could happen during the 2 years.Ginge wrote:Well yes, the only scrap of evidence it might happen is the aforementioned Countdown thing but that can easily be shown at lunchtime.ifm wrote:The point is that there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to think that this is not going to happen, it's just the usual wishful thinking of people that actually want the bdo to fail, which is irrational unless you talk to NikkiboyGinge wrote:Just to play a small devils advocate here but the BBC did terminate their contract to show the Open golf live a year early...ifm wrote:So you should be speculating on the premiership rights too, the golf?
What about Wimbledon?
Absolutely stupid isn't it?

No idea where this "1 year plus an option of 1 further year" theory has come from.
I still think that, if C4 was having the darts again on the main channel they would be at least putting something about it by now. The darts page on the C4 website has not been updated since the day after the final.

I wonder what the 'kind comments' were?!
Re: 2018 BDO World Championship- Lakeside- 6th-14th January
I said I loved the shots of the man holding up a big sign saying "GAMMON" when Corrine Hammond did her walk-on, and the officials carefully inspecting the menu on the side of a nearly empty tin of Quality Street in the background whilst a live interview was taking place.Skewball wrote:I wonder what the 'kind comments' were?!

Indeed, however contracts can be cancelled early however it is now September and they have confirmed it, therefore the issue has now been put to bed and I expect to hear no more of the "1 year + 1" nonsense...oche balboa wrote:Why Bradders needed to Email (Zapp was going to has well but got details of channel 4 employees addresses) i do not know

I just find it very sad that people not interested in the bdo world professional championships, in fact wanting it to not even go ahead, are emailing tv companies about it.ChrisW wrote:Doing a great job Ginge, don't listen to the haters.Ginge wrote:Exactly.
