The line needs to be below Richie Edwards. Well he will be the player who has to wait and see who the Masters winner is, anyway, assuming the tie for 26th is ordered by WDF ranking position.

Jeff Smith looks fucked now.

Adams probably did enough this weekend to avoid the Prelim round as well.

Is it 3 qualifiers or 4?
Worth noting that Noppert still has one box to fill. A Last 32 at the British Open (assuming he is playing it) should see him avoid the Prelim although a Last 16 (or points the day before) would make 100% sure.

Ted Hankey needs a sponsor invite to get into the Lakeside playoff? Surely they havent got rid of the "ex-champion gets in for life" rule there as well?

And who is the "sponsor" in this instance? Cant imagine Potter spoke out and asked for him to be included.

Really dont see why they have got rid of it, its not as if it would push the numbers up vastly, most of the Lakeside champions are either dead, retired, get in anyway through other means, or are ineligible.

Winning Lakeside should get you in the qualifiers forever assuming you are still eligible.

In which case get rid of all the criteria where the winners of far flung Opens qualify, which creates an even greater issue with no-shows than inviting the likes of Dave Whitcombe.

Is it really that tricky to ask them all if they are coming?

"Hi Dave, you coming to Brid this year?"
"No".

There, sorted.

Well maybe it could be raised at a future BDO meeting, although cant imagine many county delegates having much sympathy for Ted Hankey having to rely on sponsor invites!

He won the Masters, though, and used to be all ex-Masters winners got into the Masters forever. Same as with Lakeside winners getting into the Masters (and lakeside qualifiers) forever.

Both rules have seemingly been scrapped this year. Think all Masters winners got into Lakeside qualifiers as well, actually.
