Yeah, the GSOD is a bit of a special matter given that the PDC is expressly inviting players through criteria based on BDO competitions. I don't think accepting the place would contradict Montgomery's "only play for one organization at a time" ethos. And hey, maybe he'll like it so much that he ends up as the biggest name switcher of 2018...

He has been consistent in his view, and I agree that he is perfectly entitled to to articulate that opinion. However circumstances and viewpoints change and for me, I would have no issue with him accepting a place in the GSOD should he have an invitation through the BDO's qualifying criteria.

Yes, they may be and they are perfectly entitled to that opinion. Personally, as I have articulated, it is not one I agree with and think should Montgomery qualify, I would like to see him at the GSOD. Think it is important that the BDO are represented by their strongest possible players and the criteria they are using should ensure that. Would love to see Ross drawn in the same group as Gary, and for Ando to address his 0-2 record against Monty.
