Yes, he wont breach any eligibility rules until he plays at Ally Pally. Any removal of him from the tournament would be down to bitterness on the part of the Finder organisers and nothing more (unless he requests to pull out, of course)
The contracts were all being signed at Winmau masters and Jeff definitely signed his .

I always wondered why they don't buy a joke shop disappearing ink pen and sign them with that

Just saw this from elsewhere but it seems like Jeff Smith has had his wildcard pulled

Finders Masters have pulled their invite, as expected.. but I do thank you for the consideration in the first place. Good luck all.

Well thats a very polite reply. Maybe the decision makes sense if the finders is a ranking (still not right giving points) event?

Why is it? He breaches no eligibility rules until the moment he appears on Sky Sports in December.

Rules do not have to be broken for a correct decision to be made.

He has chose his bed and that bed he must lie in.

He knew it was coming as well, so its not shock to him or anyone with half a brain.

Wouldn't be surprised if a player or two moaned about him and got them to revoke the wildcard.

Tournament will be the worse for it, but it's their choice.

Hmm interesting reply by Jeff to one of the comments on FB:

"Its all good guys. If someone who can actually benefit from those points can get in. Then no hard feelings."

Seems to be suggesting he wouldn't benefit from the points if he played. Off to Q School?

Why else would he play PDC worlds. Yeah the prize money etc. But why ostracise yourself from both orgs.

I was unaware that him playing Ally Pally 2018 precludes him from trying to qualify for Lakeside 2019.

Seems like even Jeff Smith sees nothing wrong in a person getting points for this comp.

If another benefits then that means it could be at the expense of another player!

BDO's loss as I always got the impression Jeff was a popular and well liked player. Don't think there will be any looking back for him, don't think he will regret it either as he pretty much made a name for himself via the BDO. Alot of other North Americans should look at his approach and learn. Now it is time for him to move on, hopefully he gets enough sponsorship to do a good part of the tour. Will be interesting to see how he gets on. If it doesn't work out he can always go the soft tip route as they seem to be getting their hooks into him.
