His 2018 has been average so far, 3 good PL wins and a Euro & ProTour 1/4 final & 1/2 run the highlights. But so many performances when he doesn't set up a good finish, too often finds himself on big finishes after 12 instead of 9 darts.

He's been sick for a few weeks now, might be something physically wrong with him, although being 49 years old in any sport is challenging in terms of keeping up with the likes of van Gerwen, Smith etc which are much younger.

Timing is his key issue. Barney threw a real average 9th leg there, and Simon left 108 after 15 darts, just not good enough.
