Looks to me to be a post that states averages can be misleading whilst acknowledging the very best players reside in the pdc.

All you've done is prove the point about fanboys arguing with themselves on the matter.
Do you really want me to respond to what imo is clearly a post induced by either alcohol abuse or just plain old ignorance. :WWWW:

Okay, read this very carefully as I will post this only once.

In the first post Basgooner accepts that the standard in the PDC is higher than in the BDO and stating this is the obvious post of the year and no one would argue with this.

In the 2nd post I referred to and in response to Addicks Fan asserting that MVG and Taylor are the only difference between the codes, he accredits him as talking sense.

And therein, is the contradiction I alluded to.

How is saying that the PDC has the best two players in the world contradicting the statement that the standard is higher in the PDC??

Okay for the sake of clarity, I will now say this only twice, therefore will not be responding to you again.

Recognising that the fact of the PDC being of a higher quality and this was the most obvious post of the year and beyond argument, and then agreeing that Tayler and MVG are the ONLY difference between the codes is contradictory, and almost as idiotic as someone once articulating that Taylor was the only difference. On that note I will close my dialogue with you.

No. He qualified for the UK Open as an "amateur"
The OP says: "those who have averages available from both sides in blue". So it shouldn't matter how he qualified.
Maybe should have explained myself better. Both refers to players who can receive ranking points from both organisations and can qualify for both World Champs, and have averages recorded for both orgs on that basis. So Hogan is BDO, Koltsov will be both (as he can play in either and has averages from the Finnish Open and the World Cup of Darts).

Hypothetical situation. Person A had £1. And person B had £1.02. And someone said person B had more money than person A. Would you agree?

That is what you are disagreeing with here. If person A says the the PDC has the stronger field/standard. And person B says they are the same apart from the two players who are better than anyone else, then that is quite clearly admitting that the PDC has the stronger field/standard.

Saying they are the same apart from the best two means there is no way he can be saying the BDO is stronger. Saying they are the same apart from two players means there is no way he can be saying they are identical. Therefore, he is clearly agreeing the advantage is with the PDC

Its very, very simple.

Says Digital Caliper man.
You think I used digital callipers to prove the bdo has a higher standard than the pdc?
Nope. I think you used them to prove the difference in averages could be explained by equipment. The notion that for 10 years there has been a general acceptance that the standard in the PDC is better than the BDO is laughable. You have denied stating Tayor was the only difference between the codes but I have certainly seen you arguing similar.
Indeed, in fact we know now there cannot be a proper comparison in those years as the equipment was different, chalk and cheese.
**Disclaimer**
I do agree that the overall standard in the PDC is higher, probably since Barney switched though they don't have all the best players in the world.......yet.
