I have seen lots of posts along the lines of "it was two slags who just wanted to make money off him". Sympathy? Maybe, maybe not. No appeal. No fight. Just taking it on the chin and doing your best to try and stop it being mentioned for the rest of time.
I can't respect that. With his money and stature and what he has available to him, if I was innocent I would fight it to the highest court in the land and exhausting every appeal available before quitting. And Taylor is no quitter.
He did it to protect his family? That would be the wife he cheated on with a fitness instructor, resulting in divorce? And the kids he has largely abandoned?
I think you are right to say it shouldn't get talked about in the same context and a more serious, violent sex offence charge, of course.
But when you are claiming to be completely innocent, but won't do anything about it and you are in the public eye, expect it to get mentioned. A lot. If he had either a) Admitted to what really went on along the lines of what you said, or b) Fought to prove his innocence - then I think he would have more respect about it. But he's either a liar or gutless with how he allowed it to play out.
Thats not specific to Taylor. Thats sport fans for you. Or the public in General.
