130 men +/-
30 ladies +/-
Ive heard
That is very low for for cat A+ evevt
The England Classic just 6 days later has 21 men and 5 ladies so no need to panic just yet .
Traditionally events at this time of season suffer as some realise no chance of lakeside , and are saving for beginning of next season .
Same problem as Selsey has later in the year compared to the earlier event. Players have no chance of getting to Lakeside so don't travel.
Events at the start of the season seem to do well with entries.
Classic entries 55/60% down on Open entries , not only The Bilbao event weekend before but also Catalonia on the weekend of Selsey with events all during the week from the Monday after Bilbao , a week in the sun or rush back to Selsey ?? To cap that off also a CT weekend .
Part of the boards reasoning over World Cup if we don't get good entries from Selsey sept impacts even further on our financial situation .

Should keep it open until a few days before. Maybe the event is sponsored to fek and the organisers dont care given they will be making profit anyway.
Or maybe not.

I will be utterly amazed if they promise the same payout next year for this event, IMO it will either have to move in the calendar to get better numbers, be downgraded, or totally cancelled for 2018.
Unless they have some insane sponsors happy to chuck money at it again....
"it's the same trolls spouting the same crap every other post.... you have to be some kind of sad act to watch nearly 8 hours of darts a day for 9 days just to post about how crap it is"
Far to late in the year for players to go to who don't have a chance for Lakeside.
With the rankings all ending at the same time there is no point chasing for 12 months at all. The old days there was different cut off for ranking places in different events.
