Will Corey Cadby win a world title in the future?

Post by MancheStar »

Is Corey Cadby really the future of darts or another hype job. Will he have a big say in the future of darts? What's people's views on Corey as a player? How high do you rate him?

He's got to start going on the tour first. Because at the moment he's not even qualified for this year.

Too early to say. If he commits and gets through Q School and moves over to UK. He has a serious chance of making the top 32 if he does 2 years on the tour.

He's the real deal imo.

Very unwatchable though with the shirt shaking thing and the constant fist thumps and celebration when hitting a basic 140

Seems to have a lot of potential for 21 years old it's gonna be really interesting to see if he does come over and do the tour. Had a great breakthrough year last year in the World Series, then winning the world youth championship in style. It might work in his favour that he did another year on the DPA tour instead of rushing off to q school this year plus he's already qualified the grand slam of darts later in the year.

Problem he will have is, despite his undoubted talent at such a young age, his behaviour on the oche at all times is so damn irritating. Players against him will try extra hard (potentially with game-playing tactics thrown in) to overcome him.

The size of him as a young lad I would say he has some major health issues to tackle In a few years if he stays same or gets bigger.

Would his body handle the tour and all the travelling.

Not good enough to win a Lakeside World title but chances are that he could win the PDC version some time in the future.

He could take the mantle of "most annoying player" from MvG at some point, but that pudding of a "man" will never have the stamina for a major, let alone a world championchip.

Don't know about his size Lewis won back to back world titles and he's a similar build.

Interesting listening to Corey in the above interview saying he'll be back over for the youth championship, grand slam then hopefully World Series finals and world champs then Q-School.

Andy Fordham won a world title. Anyone who brings fitness into darts is an idiot yes it would be good for his health to lose weight but his weight won't affect his darts.
And then had to concede one of his biggest games ever when he couldn't deal with the heat. Clearly, fitness has no effect whatsoever.

So you agree it wouldn't stop him from winning a world title then but may affect him in the long run. Plus Fordham was an alcoholic Cadby as far as we know isn't.
I wouldn't bet on that.

Anyway, it will affect him in the long run, but it's not like we're expecting him to win a title in the next 2-3 years. If he gets even fatter, it might just stop him from winning a big title when in his prime.
