Czech Open 2017

Post by WCDPA »

Entries still open are currently at 609 men 110 ladies , that will rise in the next few days .
When first went here there were 262 men and 40 ladies , word of mouth and extra promotion meant this had grown in 2011 to 408 men and 80 ladies , despite the next few years clashed with the Sunparcs event ( now gone ) entries continued to rise and become more successful than Sunparcs although the Belgian event had a better Cat rating , Czech Darts with Jan Prykl , Jiri Pauzr and their team raised prize money to match Belgian event , not to rest on their laurels their event achieved finder ranking status as well .
They had a great sponsorship deal with Harrows both with boards and some finance , they had to lose this when rules said Harrows was not an approved board .
Whatever the rules are the Czech Darts Org continue to prosper , beginning to feel we should harness the skills of other orgs to the BDO system rather than to dictate to them on rules etc .
If we need a reason why just check the entries and decide who has got things right .

Only Denmark applied for World Cup 2021 , and think Romania was sole proposal for 2019 huge cost to run .
Love Poland from our first visit to Poznan many moons back for greenpoint masters , only missed last year due to exbo work , hoping to take another 50+ there this year with coach transfer from Szczecin airport .

Current entries 650 men 123 ladies , with entries closing on the 7th every chance of beating record entries of 670 men 139 ladies , in Hungary and with a Czech official who is hoping not too many more entries ! Looks like it's going to be 400 men for Fridays warm up singles .

Was shown the Hungarian venue at the weekend and checked out hotels for England and some apartments for anyone to spectate as I imagine official hotel package will be circa 500€ .
But had to pass this weekends inspection by WDF to see if suitable .
