Some of the international players have airfare paid as part of the prize of winning the various international qualifiers, you see it on the flyer.

I think that is the case, but as I saw mentioned elsewhere, the difference there is you can pay your own expenses and don't need a deep run just to have a chance of breaking even. For a lot of players a first round loss will be enough to cover costs.

4.4.b The Oceanic Masters Winner will have $1500.00 paid towards return flights to the United Kingdom for the PDC World Championships. All other costs will be at the Players Expense.

£837 or so at the current bank rate. Could you even get a return airfare for that amount in mid December?

Either way will cover a good chunk of it, so a nice little extra.

Going of piste a bit I can see a stage where like in golf the pdc are going to be paying appearance money for the likes of top 3, after all subsidies for air fares is part way there now

Technically for the Premier League and the World Series Events they already do in the guise of prize money

As others have said, partially, but with £7,500 for a first round loser, not such a problem.
BDO 2018, was £2,000 for last 40 men, so they need additional support.

More proof that the BDO despise "Johnny foreigner"
and would rather have Lakeside as the North Sea Cup for just Brits and dutch players
i am so sorry for my actions these last ten years, i'm going through a tough time

Demands ffs. Some players are idiots. They are lucky there is an event on at all on TV with the same money as last time out.
