No Oche is right even if hes responding to trolling - Some great games have happened with players shooting 75-85 - What was better - This years Lakeside final - Or this years Premier League final - Stick your averages up your bumhole - Give me drama and a close game -

That he played shit
77 is shit compared to what we see at the PDC Premier - But for a first timer at Lakeside its an ok effort -

being proud of a 77 average in a laughing entitled "world pro" is not something to be proud of, and only shows the type of player that makes lakeside.

Clearly you have never played the game - a 77 average is far from ‘shit’

I have played the game, and show me where I said it was shit ?
It might be better than what I throw but to think that is good enough for a last 32 in a so called "world pro" is a joke

The type of player that makes Lakeside is one that has played very well to get there - Thousands try and get in but dont - Playing on that stage isnt like playing down your pub - It takes a lot of nerve - A 77 ok considering the circumstances - Yes the standard isnt quite what it is in the PDC - But its still semi pro standard - Do you laugh at footballers in the Championship division because they are not quite as good as Champions League players - Doesnt make sense bud -

the point you are trying to deflect from is the bdo calling itself a "world pro"

You admitted yourself they are not pros.

Because thousands might enter an event does not mean that the standard is higher does it ?

It is shit for someone playing in a world championship
We won't mention the many 60 averages in the PDC world championships Phil ;)

A great post, and something I have mentioned on loads of occasions in the past.

The players are hitting massive averages in qualifying for Lakey, I have seen the qualifiers and the quality is outstanding.

The ‘problem’ is that when these guys eventually do qualify to play on darts’ most famous stage, the nerves kick in and they often don’t do themselves justice.

Because the BDO have so few major televised events (like just the one!) there is simply no way they can gain the big stage experience.

This, I believe, is EXACTLY the reason that when these players make the switch to the PDC (where they can gain loads of stage experience) they suddenly start playing at a level we haven’t seen from them previously.

The PDC don’t make these guys better players....they simply provide the platform for them to perform on the big stage.

I’m pretty sure I said major ‘televised’ event....a bit of web streaming, or hidden away on a freebie sports channel is a long way from that mate.

So Freesports isn't a TV station because it's free?

Interesting.

The PDC Worlds has the better standard - No question - But Lakeside is still a World Championship and the standard is still very high all things being considered - Dont get so worked up over them calling it a World Pro bud - The English secondary division is called The Championship - But no one really complains - Know what I mean -

Not really, no. It's a televised event, why you have it in inverted commas is a bit of an oddity.
