Hopefully the quality is better than last year. Onlye North did a great job from the Tour-Card winners.

good point. The qualifiers last year was not a great crop. Maybe its a two year cycle thing?!
Certainly expect Noppert, Jeff Smith and Hughes to so some damage, and would LOVE Tony O'Shea to make an impact.

The PDC have never compensated for this type of thing in the past.

defo a borderline case in this instance as to whethr they should. There could be mileage in it if anyone gets cold feet and complains enough/ But I'm struggling to think many people will have entered soley on the basis of UK Open qualifiers, but I really don't know.

Someone has said on twitter that the PDC WILL resolve hotel costs for players who have booked non refundable hotels for the UK OPen qualifiers if they do not get to qualify for them. (in response to Barry Hearn twitter)

Biggest number of entries last year was 279. Maybe this cap is a bit premature? I doubt everyone from Q-school would turn up, there is still travelling involved and the real no hopers will have had some wising up after Q-school surely?

The difference this year that you don't have to fork out over £300 in entries on a weekend...

Still the travel and room costs though. Doubt many Europeans would come. And with a couple of extra boards and strict time discipline I think they'd be able to accomodate the extra guys.

Not caught up with thread adter this but maybe the PDC should have kept the entry fees in for the UK Open.
